The one thing I don't see anymore nowadays for wooden fences, is white picket fences, or any painted fence. Everything is bare wood or stained. I like the look of a painted fence to match the house. Unpainted wood fences I think in my area just fell out of fashion for some reason.

Just built something similar and something to consider is the cost of staining the fence is insane. I did this instead of a pvc fence because I wanted to save some Money but to stain both sides it was another $800 to the cost. Unless your planning on letting your hard work turn grey something to consider if your budgeting this project.

The only issue with using treated 2x4 as railing you’re going to end up with alot of warped and twisted rails. As a professional, I like to sell my customers pre stained sections already assembled. Pre assembled sections will hold up longer. From experience.

question, i see you have the rails screwed to the outside of the post, but then on a clip where you were by a chainlink fence, they were recessed in using a bracket on the right side, did you use a bracket on the left as well? and if so, how do you make the recessed part of the fence match with the other that is attached to the rails on the face of the post?

There is no need to mix the cement. There is no need to even add water in all but the driest areas. You can pour dry cement in hole with post then compact the dirt on top. It takes a day or two most to have solid concrete. Did that almost a decade ago and fence and posts are still rock solid.
@AndrewThronImprovements
