DIY Festival Toran/ Festival Bandarwal

I always want something new for the festivities and I don't usually prefer to buy it. I paint a wall, move the art around or just give something a makeover. This time I decided to make myself a nice handmade toran for Navratri.
I used an old saree that was falling apart.

Beautiful. If you stick some golden border to it, it becomes more pretty for the dark background.

Wow!!! So beautiful. You were lucky to get the peacocks and paisley ,placed on either side,facing towards centre so it looks balanced. Also,here in Mumbai those patches are quite expensive.But simply loved the thoran!!Thanks for sharing such beautiful idea. looking forward to more such festive DIY decor items.

Yes I know. I looked online to see if I can find similar ones but they are all so exorbitantly priced. 6 piece cost more than what I paid for 40 pieces.
