In this video I show how we turned some rebar into a fireplace grate for our giant smoker! This project was cheap and only took an hour to complete!! Hope you enjoy!!

Hi there! Thank you for sharing this great video. I'm an older woman asking you this question. I want to build a woodstove grate using rebar to fit inside my small woodstove. I have a soldering tool, but I am not certain whether this is the right tool to join the rebar to build this small grate. What is the name of the tool you are using to join the rebar please? Thank you for your or any reader's reply. God bless!

So awesome looks great. As I don't have a welder but if I did I would make one for my Firebox for my fireplace

Thanks for the video! How well has the 1/2” rebar held up to the heat? Is it still straight and true or has it slumped or burned away?

We are debating wether or not to build and sell online. Something like this we would have to price at $75 at least due to material, time, and shipping cost. Do you think that would be a fair price?

@@fathersondiygarage3580 i'd say $60 if you add more bars across to have shorter space between lines for an offset smoker.. the fuel falls through if space is too big.. I'm getting a rebar grate made like that next week.. rebar is cheap.. he's charging me $25 to make.. good stuff!! last for years!
