DIY - FlexRig 2 - Building a 4DOF motion simulator

Short video showing how I made my 4DOF motion simulator.
Full aluminium chassis, 3-2-1 system, 3 motors for Z-axis, 2 Scott-Russel links for Y-direction and 1 for X-axis
Upper frame designed for quick changeover between different sim games
Racing, Flying, Trucking,,... and seating and control positions

Hi, glad you like it. I highly recommend to join the Xsimulator community, as their forum is really helpful for all topics. My electronics are: Arduino Uno, Sabertooth 2x32 motor controllers, KStone motors (~100 each), 2x 1000w PSUs. There are so many ways how to based on DOFs needed. Cheers Michael

Lastly, how many watts and rpm is the motor please?

Hi, mine are 60rpm / 400w. kstonemotor.en.alibaba.com/product/62359642169-819050625/Dual_Shaft_Dc_Motor_Dc_Worm_Gear_Motor_Encoder_12V_24V_400W_500W_Dc_Worm_Gear_Motor.html But I would now go for better gearboxes. Mine work fine but are too noisy for me (now)

Hi, this depends what you count into. With electronics, motors, tools needed,... 4xMotors 100 USD each, PSUs 200, arduinos 15, motor controllers 280, frame materials 200, bearings 50, div material 200, tools 3000, 40hrs of work, 100hrs getting it running smoothly.
