You can use any type of wood. However, it's going to be a lot of work in getting the necessary surface finish. Don't forget that some pallet wood have been treated with chemicals so it may not be ideal for interior use.

@diywithgreg4 жыл бұрын
Hi M, its a 75 inch massive!! And it all depends on the layout of the room, tv size, height of ceiling, you ultimately want the tv to sit little bit above the center of the wall with the wall unit built around it.. hope that helps..

@diywithgreg3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nick, the unit is very heavy so we used double french cleat..
@nickromanek94443 жыл бұрын
@@diywithgreg Thanks! I think you said you used Pine for the French cleat, which is a softwood. Did you just use that because you had it laying around? Wouldn't spruce, fir, or plywood have more support for the French cleat? I ask because you inspired me to build the same thing! I'm going to go to the store tomorrow to grab the wood but not sure exactly what to buy yet. Doing a double cleat looks a little tricky so I want to make sure I do it right. Thank again for this great video!
@diywithgreg3 жыл бұрын
Awesome stuff Nick, the unit is heavy but its not that heavy that the soft wood damaged or bend, 2 people can pick the unit up easily.. If you run the pine from one side of the unit to the other side, with a double cleat system the weight is spread through out the whole unit and should be fine.. im on facebook aswell please share pictures when you are done! Good luck and thanks for the support.
