As someone who grew up in a family of a cabinet maker I love that you kept the clean wood and even plywood and not painted everything white!

There are lots of ideas for installing a floating shelf. Your shelf has strength but allows for storage and aesthetic versatility. One can hang the flat screen tv on the wall of rest it on the shelf. Your unit was very well done. Thanks for posting your build process and installation of the shelf. Well done!

Looks great! You always have the best plywood. Way more plys than the big box store offering. I learned something while watching you build it that I will use. Use a scrap straight edge as you're flush bit guide looks alot easier than trying to clamp a guide offset the diameter of the router table thing.
@TheOffcut4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I prefer to use birch plywood for furniture pieces. it has much cleaner ply and stronger. Glad you were able to take something from this video :)

Great video, thanks for sharing. I have to get going with my rather constrained built but your idea of using the draught stopper is fantastic! One thing that did have me biting my nails was your technique with the table saw. Please brush up on the safety aspects by watching some very pertinent videos on that. Also use of a dust mask when working with fine dust and gaseous things. Cheers.

had to scroll way too far to see this. absolutely unsafe handling with that table saw. Just needs to use a push stick.

great job out there, but I still believe that, if you choose floating shelves method screwing it from the bottom would've been more stronger than french cleat. I like and I use too much french cleats but I don't recomend it for heavy duties. thats me. But in the end, It turned sooo gorgeous. Well done.

Only nine and a half minutes into the video and I cannot hello but grin, as I imagine the sped up passing car noises, sounds almost like those old Asian kung fu movies dubbed in English, where the lip sync is way off... sounds like those noises are your masterful hands moving at the speed of light, but the sync is off. 🤣😅👍

To cut a square hole with jigsaw.. you just need to drill 3 corners. The 4th is not necessarily needed as the last corner can be cut by jigsaw cuts itself.
