Nice job Kapper and Phil. That should do the trick.

Even though it's not my machine, I still cringed when you ground the new paint off LOL Hopefully that will do the job!

LOL I knew you would!! I got over that a long time ago!! Kind of like getting your first scratch on a new machine!

Great work on the custom windshield protector!

Hopefully that will do the job. That brush cutter is going to fling chunks everywhere!
@kapperoutdoors2 жыл бұрын
I am certain it will. The Lexan/poly door on the skid steer is only half this thick and it has stopped some MAJOR flying big chunks! So this should be even better! Just a lot cheaper when you buy it direct!!

Not just the glass, the operator.. If one of those blades cuts loose, or a big branch, this shield will save the day... And maybe save a life, or at least an emergency room visit! Thanks

Did you ever add anymore to this poly shield? If so, can you show me which video you talk about it?
@kapperoutdoors Жыл бұрын
I did not add or modify this one. It works great as we finished it. Thanks.

Nice , might do same thing for my Kubota

Yeah and if the dang shipping wasn't so much it could have only been around 300 to 400 bucks! I got quotes from 2 different places. Best of luck thanks

@@kapperoutdoors I did a job ones and lady had something like 3season room/greenhouse and we used that on part of the roof as a sort of skylight . Got 4x8 sheet at local glass shop. Was about $300 , but that was about 10 years ago :)

Does the polycarbonate scratch easy. I have one of these in my Polaris Ranger and it scratches very easy. Then hard to see out of it. Looking toward sun very hard to see past glare.
@kapperoutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Yeah it does but I just ordered a coating that is supposed to protect it from scratching so easily. But for as little as I will need this I think I'll be good to go. I hear you too, we had one of those windshield on a couple of our UTV's over the years and they stink. I really love the glass in our Polaris machines! Thanks

I can tell you from experience that wiper will make it where you can't see through in a very short amount of use.
@kapperoutdoors5 ай бұрын
Maybe so but I don't use it that much for it to be an issue. Thanks

Good job 👍 can u fit the sheet when the front window is open 🤔 just wondering because out in the sunshine 🌞 might have a distorted effect on what you see through them both 👍

Yes the bobcat windshield can be open or closed with this setup! Nice bonus.

I bet if you think on it for awhile you can engineer some type of clamp for the top.

Yeah I agree for sure. But for now simple is good enough!
@regsparkes65072 жыл бұрын
As far as the Polycarbonate sheet goes, it'll protect the Bobcat's glass, BUT will that 'Poly' stand up to windshield wiper action with grit and dust etc. on it? Just thinking and saying! That Poly sheet will protect the windshield, that's for sure.
@kapperoutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Well I won't be using the wiper much with that thing on unless necessary. I am looking if there is something I can apply to it to reduce scratching. Thanks

@@kapperoutdoors Main purpose is achieved i.e. to protect the glass from flying debris etc. You've got a good idea here.

If you add rubber seals you’ll need to throw a handful of those moisture absorbing crystals between the sheets or they’ll fog up Kapper 🤔 nice job though , can’t even tell it’s there 👍🍻

You don't grind Plexiglas you amateurs, you pull it off with a blade, metal ruler or similar... The welding is fully pro. Talking smart is just fun.
