DIY Friction Drive Electric Bike Project

the max speed in this setup is about 33km/h on the GPS and fully charged battery (25.2v)
after battery starts discharging is going to about 25km/h
this motor can handle 12 cell ESC but because was too expensive i bought the 6cell ESC
parts list
motor: alomejor 6384 120kv 4600w 24-36v paid about 70£
battery: zeee 6s lipo battery 5200mah 22.2v 50c cost now 76£
ESC: surpasshobby kk 150a waterproof cost now 57
vipmoon 2 pack 3ch 4.8-6v servo tester 8£
ballanced battery charger : keenstone c1-xr 100w 6cell
I believe comes with battery tester paid about 30£
watt meter: arceli 150a (was not mounted on the bike) cost now 11£
griptape for motor : toomett anti slip tape
when i start this project i had different motor esc etc. I didn't know anything about esc/motors battery etc. so with information i got from google/youtube i managed to finish this project somehow. this is not the perfect bike but works fine. i didn't have the tools/screws mounts, i had just the bike.
because first time i bought the wrong motor/esc and all the tools, drilling machine, bits, bars screws etc and i had different attempts to make it electric (with chains and sprockets), bets and pinions the total cost of everything was about 750£, so basically a brand new e-bike from the shop and that is legal for the roads in the UK. so i will recommend to think very well when you start a project like this one. i will try to make a video in the future how i started because i have some videos in my computer. thank you.

Hi, i will make a list in the future, but i don't recommend to use the same parts as will be quite expensive. Probably i will make a video with more details.

Hi, thank you for reply.Yes the max speed is about 32 km/h when battery is fully charged. The speed decreases to about 20-25 km/h once battery is draining. The maximum range I got with this setup is about 20 km but a decent ride is about 10 km. You can double the speed if you get 12c ESC ( mine is 6c) also adding 12c battery. You have to consider many factors when you make such a project. For example : This motor is draining so much current that the battery cannot handle well. Grip tape is not lasting long on wet conditions (one ride). on dry I can go 100 km The motor is always on the wheel so is dragging when you want to pedal. So this motor is 120kv but if you get the 170-190 kv you will get a better speed but less torque. The motor is very capable when is fully used 4.8 kw In this setup is about 2 kw. I will try to make another video in the future explaining all the issues I have but at the moment I am extremely busy :( (exam) . Good luck with your project!

Did you have 2 connectors coming out of the ESC? If so, how did you connect 1 battery to it?

hi, the ESC has in and out + wired remote cable ( where you control the speed of the motor ) . Battery side has 2 wires + - and output side 3 wires ( where you connect the motor)

@@unwrappedproject4044 I got a 6s battery to connect to the ESC but it said that I needed 2 of them. How did you connect only a single 6S battery to the ESC?

Hey, how were you able to control the esc? what kind of receiver did you use?

Probably just a simple potentiometer hooked up to the esc directly or fed through a cheap board like an Arduino
