Thank you for this tutorial. I sized the dimensions down a teense and just finished an adorable little book bag for my 2-1/2 year old granddaughter. It went together perfectly. Your instructions are thorough and well-explained.

I watched the video on Friday, 8th march 24, so I had a go at making the bag, turned out alright. So I had another go on Saturday 9th march, to make sure it was not a fluke. Worked out good, again. So chuffed with myself. So a big thank you from a newbie who has only been machine sewing since may 23. Again thank you.

Of course I love the adult bag but the child’s bag is perfect for a child. You are so talented and I have learned so much from you. Thank you so much for sharing. I’ve made several things from your videos I just wished I would know how to post it to your video lol technology doesn’t agree with me very well. I have made pouches and did a twist on it. Instead of putting a label because I don’t have a name at this moment I did an iron on of some sort on the front. I just fell in love with it and my friends wants me to make them one. How ever I just can’t seem to charge them because they are such super sweet friends I have decided to give them as a gift just to say thank you for being in my life and being a great friend to me. I love all of your videos and you have really inspired me to want to do something that I love which is creating something that I could never have done without your help. I appreciate your talented and kindness more than you can even imagine.

I did it! I made a tote using the tutorial for the black bag. It turned out wonderful! I am making my four grandchildren totes to take to the library and bring books home. The only "boo-boo" I made was using directional fabric and forgetting to consider that. But the tote still turned out very cute. The boys won't care that the dinosaurs are upside down. 🤣So sturdy! A great tutorial. Thank you!

Nice! If you used heavier fabric like your upholstery stash you used on the market bag, would you still do interfacing? I have some lighter weight upholstery and drape fabric I would use. Love the quick projects.
@ChristinesHomeAffairs
@ChristinesHomeAffairs 2 жыл бұрын
Betty, If I were using my upholstery fabric, I wouldn't use a stabiliser as I think it's firm enough. I recently did the little tablet bag this way, and it was stable enough without it 😀 If it were draping fabric, I'd probably use a light stabiliser

Love both fabrics. When I make lined bags, I leave the opening in the top either between the handles or on the side over the side seam. I then turn the edges in and once top stitched it is enclosed. You can then use the bag reversible.

Thank you. I think I vary the opening from one project to the next 😁

Really enjoyed watching both tutorials. Your manner of explaining is on point, makes the entire process look "seamless". Although the first tutorial had the mistake, I preferred that method(probably because I'm very amateur) but your second tutorial end product is where I aspire to be. Again... You make it look soo easy.

Thank you for the tutorial. I like both for different usages. Wondering if you don't recommend stitching the lining to the outer at the boxed corner. It's an extra step, but keeps the lining firmly inside without any looseness

Thank you for a great and easy to follow tutorial! You have such a pleasant sounding voice and your accent is so sweet. I like the use of interfacing, as it does make the bag sturdier. I can't wait to give it a try! I've watched other tutorials that use 4 separate pieces, as opposed to two long ones like yours. In your opinion, does it make a difference, and is one technique "better" than the other, or is it simply a matter of preference? Thank you again. 🙂

Jen, it really doesn't make much difference. Sometimes it depends on the amount of fabric you have, and other times the direction of the fabric means you need to have a seam at the bottom so you have the correct orientation on both sides😁

Love the black Bag, made those without interfacing, and use them for Market Shoppers. They are very sturdy and the perfect size for Groceries. Since you make everything so easy to sew, I am wondering if you could give a tutorial about a foldable Market Shopper. Thank you for all your awesome Videos
