I love the whitewash tip to seal it. Buckets look really good!!! Again there is no way anyone would know they are plastic. Looks like real galvanized metal👍❤🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 You get 5 stars! Woot woot😁

I’m sitting here in awe that you did TWENTY of those! I saw the craft room video which led me here. Until you said they were DT plastic bins that you painted I thought they were legit galvanized. Then you showed an actual galvanized container and it looked exactly like the painted ones.

I really love how these came out. I found a centerpiece in a catalog and the planter is galvanized but there was no way I'm paying the asking price. Now I can make it for my coffee table.

I am overjoyed that I came across your video on how to paint galvanized steel. My Daddy was a tinner and worked with galvanized sheet metal so I wanted to do a faux finish on our dining table. All I could find was zinc tutorials. They look nice, but are not the same! Now I can pay tribute to him the right way! Thank you so very much!

Cool! Love how these turned out. I'm going to try your technique on cardboard storage boxes I've picked up at garage sales. They're sturdy and great for organizing but some are covered with down-right ugly print. This will be a way to get the ugly ones to compliment those which are more pleasing just as they are. I think I'll seal them, first, with a thin coat of spray poly or something that (hopefully) won't wrinkle/pucker the paper/cardboard, giving me a better base to do the faux galvanized painting, wash, and Mod Podge. Several years ago, I painted faux galvanized on the edges of an ugly 80's, laminated particle board, L-shaped office desk I found on FB Marketplace. (Along with making all the surfaces look like they were made from pallet wood, I nailed upholstery tacks into the edge trim spaced evenly about 4 or 5 inches apart. Once all the edges got the galvanized treatment, they looked like rivets--like a band of metal was riveted to the edge instead of laminated edge trim.) I have a new, larger project in mind after the boxes, but I couldn't remember the exact way I did it the first time/which Pinterest folder I put the instructions in🤣! Anyway, when I googled the technique, your video was among those that came up. Glad it did. Even though I was (and still am) happy with the way my desk edges turned out, I really like the triangle effect and the wash that you've created. Using the bright silver is better than what I originally used, too. I used a craft metallic (Fok Art?) for my base (🤣 now that my memory has been jogged). Looking at it now, It reflects some light, but not as nicely as the spray paint you used. Over the metallic, I dabbed with Folk Art Gunmetal and the same Elephant Gray you used. (In my area, no one carries Gunmetal anymore☹.) Thanks for sharing your technique with us all on KZbin. You earned another subscriber💯.

I cannot wait to try this. I tried something like this technique on a plastic tray and I wasn't satisfied with the results. I am going to try the "gray wash" on it before I give up on it.

I come back to your video time and again!!! Can you tell us how the mod podge has held up over the last 2 years? Does it scrape off the plastic?? Would you recommend a clear coat spray paint instead? (I’d prefer mod podge but I want these to last in my art room with use!) Thank you for sharing your talents!!!! ❤❤❤
