Great vid! I installed mine and it works perfectly. I will say for anyone watching to pay attention to the assembly process. Assemble the pull up bar, screw on the flange, still the flange down, and then drill the 2x4 to the ceiling. I did this out of order and assemble took a lot longer because as I was tightening one end the other was getting loose

Good note. It was definitely my first attempt at a DIY. And I definitely made a few time wasting mistakes. In one case I kept trying to screw a piece in the wrong direction haha

Great videos . We use to live in Coral Springs Fl. Went to Peace River once. Found many small teeth. I’m looking for a Great White for a necklace. Anything you can sell?
@iHUNTdeadThings2 жыл бұрын
I only have 7 great whites to my name. 1 that I would be willing to sell but still at $100. A meg would be much cheaper for you. My stuff is on www.ihdt.store

I don't trust how easy it shakes. Doesn't seem sturdy enough to last in the long run

How did you get the 45 degree elbows and ends to stay lined up properly? When I screw them down, they don’t end up lined up correctly? I can get them to line up if I back them out, but then they’re loose.
@iHUNTdeadThings4 жыл бұрын
We had one that lined up perfect but the last one was off. So we got it as tight as it would go and backed it out until it was pointed down. When you are doing pull ups it doesn't move at all and there is no risk. I've been using for about a month and a half.

@@iHUNTdeadThings Thanks for your post. You've really simplified other online DIY options by using 3/4 inch throughout. I just completed mine and everything is fully lined up and tightened. Amazing how much more the pieces will turn, using a rubber mallet - I achieved 360 degrees additional turn.

QUESTIONS: 1- Instead of having 2 Ts with the 2' stub in between, could you not use a "4 Way" connector so you would have one fewer connection? 2- Can you use shorter vertical pipes? 10'" or even 8" inches to try minimize swaying?
@iHUNTdeadThings3 жыл бұрын
If you can find a 4-way that goes in those directions that would be great. I've only seen them shaped like a plus + . Also, yes, shorter from ceiling is ideal. Less sway. Just enough so you don't pull up and hit your head. My garage was just too high, so I needed to bring it down further. I still use a step up to grab it.
@stephanedemers50953 жыл бұрын
@@iHUNTdeadThings Yes, I found a 4-way that looks like it can work. Hopefully they make it in 3/4" www.homedepot.ca/product/stz-fitting-black-iron-4-way-tee-1-2-inch/1001157021 ONE MORE Question: I am actually not attaching the flange to the ceiling, but to the side of a cross beam (which sits at 91" from the ground (hence me using much shorter verticals)), would you suggest I use screws or lag bolts, considering the force will be coming down at 90 degrees, not directly vertical?
@iHUNTdeadThings3 жыл бұрын
I would definitely suggest distributing the weight at another point under the pull-up bar. Either on the middle or one on each side with an addition flange on a lower cross beam. And at that point I feel like either should work, but lag is ideal.

Question, did you build this?
@iHUNTdeadThings4 жыл бұрын
Yes, still holding up strong! We didn't come up with the idea. There are similar ones on the internet.
@kersi-sandiego60363 жыл бұрын
Do the lag screws go into the RAFTERS or the JOISTS in the ceiling? Does anyone know? I am confused about what is holding up the 2x4 to the ceiling. Thank you.
@iHUNTdeadThings3 жыл бұрын
In the joists. You take a 2x4 and got perpendicular across 3 joists

Lol, understandable! They we be back soon. I have replaced my lost gear and made it out once, but came up fairly empty handed. Still Ryan and Mike have found tons since I lost my gear, and I own it to them to put it all together.
