Dear Hampton, I'm a 66-year-old woman and can't do pull-ups, never could, except maybe when I was a kid, but resigned to never being able to again. Then I saw your video and decided I'm going to try. I tried on the park outdoor pull-up bar, but just immediately crumpled to the ground. But I was inspired by your philosophy of doing a little bit every day. Then I bought gym rings and put them up outside my backdoor. Every time I walk past I step up, grip, step off the stool and drop down. Resigned that's all I'll ever be able to do. At least it gives my back a nice stretch. But soon I found that instead of immediately slipping off, I could hold on for a few seconds. Then 10 seconds. Then 12. Now I feel I can squeeze my shoulder blades together and make a small pulling motion. Will let you know if I ever manage to do one complete pull-up. Maybe in a year.

Why care about what others when you can only see from your own perspective and your own world. Thanks brother you're an inspiration to me to take care of my body and my life has really changed for the better.

Hey man, I'm 105 rn and can't do pullups. Can you tell your entire routine ? I'd like to incorporate some of it.
@HartyBiker3 жыл бұрын
@@animealpha4795 to be honest I've basically just followed Hampton's workout plan. I lost about 12 kg through diet alone, then started working out. Started with inverted ring rows around chest height till I got to 3 sets of 30. Then gradually lowered the height till it was just below waist height and I could do 3 sets of 25. Then a few weeks I did some jackknife pullups and found I can now do pullups. This week I intergated 2 sets of 4 pronated pullups into my workout and for some time I've also been doing 2 sets of ring flys for a shoulder workout. I also found early on that my core strength was far too weak, so to build up to exercises like pullups and pushups I really had to focus on abs, and still sort of do. Main thing I've found is whatever progression you're up to research as much as you can about form so that even if it means you do a few less reps your form stays good and you'll get the most out of your workout and you'll progress much faster
