DISCLAIMER: pls use wise judgement when using this mixture, make sure to test-spray it on one or a few plants first, not on all affected plants. You can tweak the ingredients to make it less or potent. Also do the spraying when it's not too hot outside..preferably evening time. Some vloggers wash off the solution after spraying, I don't because I want the solution to stay on the leaves. But my mixture is not too strong either and I don't spray everything, only the affected part of the plants.

Thankyou for this advice,a friend of mine said she done a mixture like this but without the oil & sprayed her cabbage & she said she thinks the bicarb might have burnt her cabbage leaves,only a few on the outside.. Hi any spraying can be done when the sun is not too hot. It can burn the leaves. Yes, trial and error for sure. Hopefully, her plants will recover.

@@barakoniner1644 any cooking oil would work. It's best not to spray when the sun is too hot. Too strong of a mixture can damage the leaves. Try the mixture first on a few leaves

This is a miracle worker! Thank you so much. How did you get this recipe? To everyone else...DON'T BE AFRAID TO TRY THIS. I was about to throw my hibiscus 🌺 away and tried this solution- And it worked. I sprayed the flower all around (including under the leaf and soil) left the flower outside for 15 min. All little insects (unalived)just Have to change the soil in case they laid eggs-and water spray the flower just in case the soap doesn't damage the leaves. Many thanks 😊

Anybody asking about what type of oil, use any type, the oil is only there to hold the ingredients onto the plant. It also makes it difficult for aphids to breathe. I don’t know if this mixture works but about to try it. Detergent is a poison and the oil will hold it on, maybe drowns the bugs, a deterrent to grasshoppers. Don’t know about the bicarbonate, maybe to give the bugs bright clean teeth ? Remember anyone trying this, as soon as you water or it rains, you will have to reapply. If you can water the soil without spraying the foliage, one application is enough. Hope this helps your planning

i made this without baking soda 😊 I can confirm that it works, also made some for my aunt who had an infestation of some type of larger sized fruit flies. During the evening the were all over her wooden patio cover. she was so happy becauseshe was about to hire an exterminator

I just made it. Something is attacking my dahlias. While applying, I saw an atricious looking brown spider, daddy long legs and earwigs. Sure hope I can save the dahlias because they were beautiful when I planted them.

What is the baking soda doing in the mix? I understand the soap kills and the oil lets it stick to bugs eggs and plants so it lingers a little longer. Is baking soda for slugs and other bugs?

It can potentially deter and kill other pathogens as well. Baking soda is acidic, an alternative to using vinegar in the mix.

Hello! Just spray the affected plants. The solution will help kills ants and aphids. If some managed to move to the next plant, then treat that plant, until nothing is left to bother your plants. Consider fertilizing your plants. Healthy plants are less problematic. Just keep an eye on your precious plants 🙂 I hope this helps

I’m at war right now with these aphids. They’re suckn my roses dry, I saw them on my Venus fly traps and it was over. Ima give this a try. I heard neem oil helps out too for mixing it in to concoctions like this. If I could use a flame thrower I would.

Idk if you or anyone will see this. … but I have small black ants attacking my green beans, I have used cinnamon, cayenne pepper, diatomaceous, (a lot) sprayed them with a plant bug spray, 5050 vinegar water, and recent neem oil Nothing is keeping them off of my leaves and eating them,… I’ve been doing all of these things for approximate 10 days … the neem oil was day bf last …(I don’t see aphids???) They are young transplanted plants .. I initially saw an ant hole, I dug that up and poured a ton of diatomaceous in there… I have a heavy coating around every plant I live in the Pacific NW, we have not had hardly any rain this year… I don’t know if that is the problem? But absolutely nothing is stopping them I have not done the dish soap water yet … Does anyone have any other thoughts to PLEASE help me Thank you!!! 😊🙏🏼

Ants don't like vinegar and dish soap. You can mix half and half vinegar and water, and 1 teaspoon dishsoap. You need to disturb the ant hill or pour hot water before spraying the affected area/plants. Spray the plants affectes when the sun is not too hot.

Highly processed coconut oil might work it it's thin, but not the virgin coconut oil. Unless you live in the tropical country where it coconut oil doesn't solidify in cold or winter
