Hi I am from the Netherlands where speculaas ia from. For the speculaas, the mixture of spices is 8 tsp cinnamon 2 tsp cloves 2 tsp nutmeg 1 tsp koriander seed powder 1 tsp anise seed powder 1 tsp ginger ¾ tsp cardamum. You can skip the koriander, anise and cardamum if you'd like. You can use this mix aswell to make a hot drink or in cakes. Add as much as you like to your baked goods. Preferred is to leave the dough in the fridge for two days before rolling out and baking.

Love your idea to use a decorative glass to stamp the cookies/biscuits 😃 And the shrink wrap tubing on the shoelaces makes them look like the real deal! Well done 🎉

Using the bottom of a glass to imprint a pattern is such a genius tip -I'm gonna do this on all my holiday biscuits now!! Thank you for the awesome ideas :)

TIP: If you want to avoid your paint from bleeding through your masking tape (it happens) start by painting your first color to let it purposely bleed (but it won't show 'cause it's the same color) and then paint again without removing the tape in between! That way the secondary color lines should be looking a lot sharper since you already bleed through the tape with your first color, block the second! 😁👍
@RoseryApparel3 жыл бұрын
That is such a good tip! Thanks for sharing! I’ll be doing that next time for sure 😄

I love these DIYs! Also I had no idea that heat-shrink tubing existed - I used to make my own laces for my Converse when I was a teenager, but I just used a bunch of regular sticky tape for the ends, which just about worked, but looked a bit messy and wasn't very strong... I will definitely start making snazzy shoelaces again with the heat-shrink stuff, so THANK YOU! x

I love seeing these cute gift videos. I always hate doing gathering stitches. I end up breaking my thread and end up hand stitching my gathers. Handmade shoe laces? Omg!

Yeah it’s frustrating when that happens. Good quality thread is a must when gathering! 😊

Hi janelle - great video! for the ruffled tea towel ruffle piece, is that meant to be 100cm instead of 10?

Hey janelle, I’m looking at making the ruffled tea towels, but I’m a bit confused by the measurements of the rectangles. The larger rectangle 40x50cm then the smaller rectangle is 8x10cm. Should the smaller rectangle be double the length of the larger rectangle width so it can shrink down with the ruffling?

Will the tea towel pattern work with cotton or does it have to be linen?
@RoseryApparel3 жыл бұрын
Yeah cotton will work too, maybe the thicker the better though so it can still absorb moisture etc 😊
