This is amazing! I've been looking forward to doing a grow tent setup for my boa before she gets huge! It's hard to come by many people utilizing these tents when keeping large reptiles, and it's awesome to see this hobby becoming more and more affordable to those willing to put in the work!

Awesome! It's definitely becoming more and more common. I swear when I started planning this tent this winter there was hardly anyone online talking about grow tents for large snakes and now I see posts about it nearly daily! I wish I had waited before doing this update video because it looks a lot better in there now, but maybe I'll do one further down the line or include it in my video about my blue tongue skink tent that I'm currently working on

I love this. What are all the plants? I made a bioactive enclosure with glass for my ball python but now i wish i just got a grow tent XD

Well most of them died haha, but the golden pothos and lemon lime dracaena are both still going strong!

whats your heat source resting on? is that a metal mesh piece? i just got a tent for my carpet python but heating is proving more difficult than i thought lol. also, did you zip tie the vents off so there is no escaping?

Yes I made a top light cage situation with some wire mesh. I've since updated it to a wooden board sealed with water based polycrylic and used to mount heat lamps internally. I was losing a lot of heat having the heat lamps on the outside of the enclosure. And yes, zip tie every vent! And get a luggage lock for the zippers

@@Skinkologythanks so much!! going to grab some zip ties tonight and i have a radiant heat panel i am going to try and fasten inside the tent. Yours is a good example as you also have a larger stronger snake like i intend to put in mine.

Never owned a snake and I'm curious: Do you have a full clean up crew? Do you have to still spot clean and deal with poop? How's the smell?

I do have a full clean up crew! Margo has moved into a slightly smaller tent now but she has isopods, springtails, and garden millipedes as her clean up crew. They are so well established now that they are finished with her poop by morning most times. I still spot clean urates. Freshly watered there is definitely a damp earth smell, but never any stink :)

Has she tried to escape? I’m thinking about getting a grow tent for my male boa but he’s a Houdini.

No she's stopped trying to escape since moving into here but she also has nowhere to go! It's very secure
