I would like to make an amp similar to the one you made, I was looking at the pre assembled kit, but… it appears the output is located in a position that would limit your options for placement. I like how you made yours( from scratch) and wanted to know if you could just add your own output to this pre made kit, I very new, and wanted to try on a pre made first, zero experience in this area, could you give some advice?

You can use a small 1/8" connector and just wire the 1/4" output connector to that. That works fine. Or, you could unsolder the 1/8" connector and add wires for your 1/4" connector.

Now are the gains pins shorted underneath already when you add the switch or does the switch it’s self short them automatically in the off position?

The gain pins are open until shunted. You could wire up the gain jack to be shunted until plugged in. In that case it would be high gain until the switch was plugged in. Then, the gain switch will be in charge of opening or closing the gain pins.

Between pin 1 and pin 8. With no switch, the gain is 20. With switch the gain is 100.

If you have a plug-in acoustic, yes it will work. But If your guitar does not have a plug, it won't work. Thanks for watching!
