DIY Guitar Pedal Guide - Fuzz Factory & Soldering The Circuit - Part 2

Part 2 of my DIY guitar pedal guide focuses on how to build and solder the circuit for a Fuzz Factory clone. This circuit is quite small and doesn’t require many components, so it should serve as a good introduction for beginners. But to be honest this pedal isn’t for everyone. If you currently don’t have a fuzz and are wanting to build one, then you might want to start with a more traditional fuzz pedal. The Fuzz Factory isn't your typical fuzz, it can do some crazy oscillation effects that are great for experimental sounds!

Something I should have mentioned: Make sure electrolytic caps are orientated correctly as shown in the layout. The white stripe indicates which side is negative polarity. If they're not correct then they might pop!

Nice, the Big Muff is a great choice for the more traditional fuzz sound. I have one on my board and it rips!

Use good solder too. Its a horrible place to cheap out. Cold joints are the worst. That board holder hinders more than it helps. I had one and donated it. I replaced all the jelly bean parts i learned using with digikey orders. Caps alone cost me 200+. Having good fluxes and solder braid is good too. I use vector board or etch my own. I spent a fortune on liquid tin haha. I regret it haha. Busboard systems brand protoboard is awesome as well. Cheap too considering you can cut the pcbs and get 4 circuits that you know will work. Im buying a tektronix curve tracer. Im gonna sell my rtx 3090ti while it's still worth money. A good jbc station is good too. Moat people dont realize that the pedal dc jack should be center negative. Makea biasing the transistors and comparators easier. Hahaha you said negative as i typed it.
