I've been looking into DIY-ing guitar pedals and this helps sooo much. My friends that play guitar all use multi-fx pedals and they do not want to spend money on pedals because they're quite expensive here. Would like to build some for them. Thank you so much for this man!! You're amazing!!!

Thanks I hope the guide serves you well! BTW I'm currently building a buffered ABY pedal with transformer isolation and will be making a video on it soon. Extremely useful tool for any guitarist!

Thanks, this was a helpful introductory overview of pedal building as I try to figure out what parts to buy. One thing I didn't quite understand at 15:14: for the 1/4" input jacks, why are TRS sockets required instead of TS if you use battery power?
@PhazerTech7 ай бұрын
The ring and sleeve connections of a TRS jack are wired in such a way that they act as an on/off switch. When a cable is plugged in, it completes the circuit for ground and turns the pedal on. When the cable is unplugged it turns off the pedal. This is done to save battery power when you're not using the pedal. You can Google image search "TRS battery guitar pedal" to find diagrams of how to wire it.

excellent segment! Very indepth and perfect for my newly built Beavis board. Can't wait to see the full segment of this, I may just stock up some stripboards and tinker with during the holiday break!

Thanks! Nice, the Beavis board should make it a lot easier to compare different circuits or to make mods. For example if you want to build an overdrive but can't decide which one you want to box up, then I suggest building the stripboard for a few of them so you can compare them with a flip of a switch on your Beavis board.

I'm glad you found it useful, thanks for the comment! Also is that Wardenclyffe Tower in your pic? I find Tesla's work to be very interesting and I plan to study it more at some point in the future.
