DIY Half-Zip Sweater (Version 2) + ZIA Pattern

The materials you’ll need:
around 1.5 yards of medium weight knit fabric
a 13” zipper
2 m of elastic, 4 cm wide
1.5 meters of twill tape, 1-2 cm wide
25 cm of fusible interfacing, 2 cm wide
a zipper sewing machine foot,
a machine needle for knit fabric,
matching thread
Glasshead pins
scissors

Will this work if the sweater fabric frays? I got the pattern and I'm trying to (stupidly) use a double sided minky. I would definitely opt for a thinner material for the facing... It's hard to tell in the video but are the edges fully contained? Additionally, I'm going to have to finish every seam by serging...will that work here?
