The fishnet shirt thing really takes me back. Some other things I’ve done/tried other people might find useful (though a lot of them are fairly basic): You can take cheap black stockings and cut a bunch of little holes in them which makes for a really cool look. Also you can take an old jacket and cut the sleeves off to make a vest. I’ve also heard that you can use hot glue to keep your pin from opening, just a little dot of hot glue and it’s good! In high school I took a white t-shirt and some masking tape and wrote out the word “rebel” using my masking tape then painted over that with red paint. After the paint dried I took the tape off and it had a pretty cool look. And old school diy I did a lot is you take a pair of socks, cut the heel and tip of the sock, and you get gauntlets. I did this with these fuzzy green and lime socks. Sewing can be time consuming, so I usually just use safety pints to attach my patches (unless I want them to look extra nice) which has the added benefit of making it easy to switch out patches. I also once took a 1 1/2-2ft chain and attached it to the back of my jacket using safety pins. You can also just attach safety pins wherever you like and then you have the added bonus of always having emergency safety pin!

I think it's important that us nonbinary AFAB people are vocal about not being nonbinary because we "don't like being girls", but because we simply don't feel like we are girls ourselves. Supporting girls and women and being feminists, even through we're not girls/women ourselves. Can't tell you how many times I've come out to someone and they ask me "what's wrong with being a woman?" ... "Nothing, Susan. What's wrong with being a man, why don't you want to be a man, Susan?" Being a feminist and standing with girls and women on the issues they face with the world sometimes provokes questions, mostly from CIS men... Like "why are you so riled up about this? You're not a woman." And I respond with "You're not riled up about this? Why? Why are you ok with this happening?" And then they usually get it.

Define cis man please im new to this 😁
@Zinetha3 жыл бұрын
@@pondertalks Cis is the opposite of trans. They're adjectives, they describe other things. Cis is someone whose sex and gender match, trans is someone whose sex and gender don't match. Sex is your biological sex, like genitals and chromosomes. Gender is how you feel - that internal feeling of being a woman, a man, or something else. So, a cis man is someone who is AMAB, assigned male at birth, who also feels like a man. Their sex is male and gender is male. A cis woman is someone who is AFAB, assigned female at birth, who also feels like a woman. Their sex is female and gender is female. A trans man is someone who is AFAB, but he feels like a man, he is a man. A trans woman is someone who is AMAB, but feels like a woman, she is a woman. There are also people who are AMAB or AFAB, but don't feel like a man nor a woman. They are nonbinary. There are also intersex people, whose biological sex is something else than male or female. They can identify as a man, a woman or a nonbinary person.

here is some things and ideas that i thought of! if anything that i said were in the video its either because ive done it and it worked and looked super cool or i missed it 1. dying clothes you found at the thrift store i found this white blouse and i got home and noticed it was stained ad i was soooo sad but i dyed it black and now its my favorite blouse 2. making cloth pins i made a little felt heart pin and i just sewed a pin back to it i got them on amazon for like 2 dollars(i dont support amazon anymore) but you could also just use a safty pin you can also tightly wrap like cotton fabric around a bottle cap and glue it and put another cap on the back and glue a pin to it and its a great way to use scraps 3. chokers chokers chokers! u can use just about anything to make a choker i made a ribbon bottle tab one and i make all kinds of them with fabrics they can really spice up any outfit 4 making belts and things i made a belt with the bottle tab chain thing and i like to tie it around my waist with like a baggy tee shirt it always looks really good! 5 this one isn't really a diy but steal clothes from your parents and siblings or partners i steal my dads old ripped and tatterd clothes and i costomize them or just keep them and i mom used to be really big in the hippie scene and she has a ton of skirts that she has gifted me i feel like this is good for people like myself because not everyone can really go to thrift stores and things 6. this one isnt really for everyone but getting into kandi is a really good way to make diy things like chains or other cool accessories 7 making things out of clay you can either buy polymer clay or you can make it like ive made alot of salt dough and if you use nail polish you can make your stuff really sturdy you can also find model magic and play dough just about anywhere i like to make buttons and pins charms earrings studs rings and so much more if you get creative you can make so much stuff 8 this goes along with the patch idea but you can just sew random bits of any fabric just in squares and make patches ive even used old towels( i washed and bleached them first) im working on a pair of patched up pants and using old scraps is a really good idea 9 embroidery is just a really good way to spice up old clothes you don't really have to use a hoop you can even embroider or paint patches i bought a 1 dollar sewing kit and i just doubled or tripled up my thread and i was able to make some really cool patches with words and sayings on them you can even do band logos 10 some people mifght make fun of me for this or some people may think that you cant really make alt stuff with tis bot crochet and knit are both really great to learn u can make a ton of diffrent things ive seen people make fishnets with crochet and ive made that big stripped oversized sweater that costs like 200 dollars ( i dont remember the name srry) but you can make alot of like swaeters and thigs and u can make ur own yarn i made plarn which is just plastic bags and you can really make some amazing things with crochet and knit p.s sorry if i spelled anything wrong i have dyslexia and my keyboard is rlly messed up but i just wanted to share some ideas

Another diy I really like is pins made out of bottle caps. You just get bottle caps from beer bottles or something, trace the outline from it, draw whatever u want inside the outline, cut it out, glue it into the cap, then hot glue a safety pin onto the back of the cap (or u could probably use other strong glue or tape), and then it's done! Also I love this video, they have the coolest ideas for clothes and the sewing tutorial at the end helped a lot. I started sewing a few months ago and it's really bad so the tutorial helped a lot!

I’m 55, I used to dress 80’s punkish/grunge but then lost my sense of style and started bleaching my jeans again and ripping my shirts but now I’m going to do patches and sew random things onto my clothes bc I love that texture. You’ve got such a cool interesting look, I can’t wait to make some jewelry (I’m an artist who hasn’t been creative for 2 years, so I bought paints and stickers, cigar boxes but they are sitting there, waiting 😂 thank you for your in depth tutorial and I love your wall with the ice cream/kitties/collages!! ❤️

A good tip for preserving paint/ink on clothes (if you have an iron) is putting a piece of fabric over the clothing item (to protect the paint) then ironing it for a couple of minutes (which helps it set into the fabric). Of course still try to wash the clothes with cold water but it helps preserve it so much better and you don't have to worry about them as much when washing them.

I mentioned the idea of having a jacket full of the pins and patches and then out of no where she grabbed this Coca-Cola JEAN JACKET that she had back in highschool, he let me have it and i felt so honored and i’ve been adding onto it ever since! Also recently I visited my cousin and she had what she calls a Battle Jacket and i guess its the same or similar thing, but she let me have it so now i have 2 and i love them bunches!! For accessories: ( I’ll edit if I think of more) Dollar store lock. 75 cents worth of chain. Under 2 dollar lock necklace. Use safety pins to make a necklace as well. Backpacks made of old jeans are a little advanced, but sling bags are pretty easy if you can sew. Takes two seconds to turn old little kids leggings into great arm/wrist bands. You can easily sew little scrunch “spats” to cover your boots. Look them up online. Get cheap or vintage ribbons to use as tie on chokers Weave bracelets out of old soda tabs and elastic cord. Bonus: Highly recommend you learn how to do basic knitting with a loom to work of open knit quickly to do cute loose layered striped sweaters.
