Thanks, mate, you just saved me from a time waste. DIY with a CNC? If I can get a top brand top model Cajon for $250, and a mini size home shop CNC at $2,500... figure it out yourself. And yes, it is all about the money. I do almost everything DIY, even wooden dollhouse furniture, but musical instruments I prefer to get from professionals

It looks like it wouldn't last long. Even tho the glue is a good idea I would use screws on the frame as well. Also, screws instead of nails on the back panel would be better in my opinion. It's not like it would cost more than the nails you were using. Otherwise great build. :D
@kevinteter7766
@kevinteter7766 Жыл бұрын
On the frame, glue + the rabbet joint are actually stronger than just screwing it. I suspect adding screws could add some strength, but is likely completely unnecessary.
@ballstream2233
@ballstream2233 Жыл бұрын
Nails and screws are only good for holding until the glue sets. Glue is the strongest and longest lasting bond. Make one with and one without glue and then see which one survives after dropping it down a staircase.

@JS-rp7qb 4 жыл бұрын
Pretty much always a way to not use power tools. I don’t see anything in this build that couldn’t be done strictly with hand tools. Just takes ten times longer. Do a good job and use good woods and you could probably charge $400/box. As for smoothing edges... I hear sandpaper works pretty well.

I enjoyed everything about that video right up until rubbing the finger across the carpet to clean the glue off. That was just odd. Doesn't matter if the carpet is old and dirty, no reason to intentionally make it worse when a damp paper towel easily cleans the finger. Anyway, other than that... Good job on the Cajon. Looks good.
