You can also get a electric tobacco grinder ( aka a weed grinder lol ) to grind your chalks up . I noticed a lot of nails techs use that to kee the chalk dust down and it’s mess free!

Yes! I actually saw someone using a tobacco grinder and it was no mess and I thought that was such a good idea. It probably would take more time in the long run tho.

I got a three pack for like 15 bucks, off of Amazon then I just swirl a fluffy makeup brush in there when I'm done to get the residual dust out and off the blade then I just go behind that with a lint free wipe or cloth if I need a good wipe I just use a little alcohol after I dust it out really good since it evaporates faster

@@JEKTK1984 that definitely sounds like alot more work to clean inbetween colors.. lol With the drill I didn't even turn the drill of I ran it threw a brush and the color was out in 2 seconds and then I was on to the next color. 🤣 if I was doing one color here and there then I'll probably use the grinder. Def not for this video tho. 😅🤣

I have the same brand of chalks, only I got the 48 count box, I haven’t used them yet to make more colors .. partly bc I need more pots to put them in and of course I do this for dip powders and not gel and have made lots already with mica powders … I also have a small grinder that I got from Amazon to use in grinding up the chalk .. just need more pots, clear and white powder and I’ll be ready to explore and create more with the chalks!! Hey Zeta! These look just like the powders i used when I did the neon pigments and the glow in the dark powders. Those did not separate at all and its well over 10 months that I've did those. Kristina, there are small grinders on Amazon that are pretty cheap, they look like a small flashlight (if that helps) and are battery operated, which is definitely a ➕ in my book. I got it a few months ago, along with the same chalks in the 48 count box. I am inspired! Did you use all of the gel? I have an allergy to gel polishes. I don't react to certain brands so I started by creating my own nude with the IBD clear hard gel. It's working out well. I ordered a set of pigments but don't like the pearl finish so I'm getting another set then I'm on my way. Imagine all the possibilities. I know that sounds corny but the reason we are into nails is because of color and glitter right??
