In one of your previous videos you mentioned that you work with middle-school age kids. As I watched you do this project, I thought that this is exactly the kind of project that would teach kids how to think through a problem and come up with a solution using materials readily at hand. This is a type of problem solving that many students are never faced with- but to really prepare students for real- life, this is what they need. I have been binge-watching a number of your videos, and I have been really enjoying them- you are so down-to-earth. Thanks for sharing your talents!

I have 2 pairs of Bluetooth headphones to have a back up when the first pair battery runs out. They work just fine but the original faux stretch leather is pealing and all over my face like you said. This pattern/ process is perfect.

There's not many tutorials on making these and it's hard to find anywhere that makes them. They're usually crazy prices too! I'm fixing up my old bose headphones. I've got some new headphones ear cushions and I want to keep them clean and sweat free from the gym. Just order my fabric and can't wait to try this!

This is EXACTLY what I've been thinking of doing for mine, but I'm not good at sewing, so couldn't quite get my head around the details. I'm fed up of the disintegrating fake leather all in my hair and stuck to my skin too. 😜 Not sure what fabric I have. Maybe a couple of layers of an old t-shirt would work.
@StephanieRubletz11 ай бұрын
An old t-shirt would totally work. And it's such a small amount of fabric that one shirt will give you plenty of fabric if you need a couple tries. Good luck!

Thank you so much for this video. I'm definitely going to try this. I felt tremendous relief at learning that I wasn't the only person on the planet that this happens to (including the flaking on cheeks and ears, which bugs me particularly when arriving at my workplace - I always wear my headphones on my way to work and it sucks so much having to hurry to the bathroom before meeting anyone 'cause there could be black stuff visible everywhere haha). Also, I really like your laidback, friendly, optimistic attitude! Thank you!

I cannot believe my eyes! What are the chances that there are someone on the KZbin who wants to make a DIY cover for exactly my model of headphones??!! I am also a zero-waste, so the idea of ordering the replacement earpad covers from the Evil Corp Amazon and get them delivered across the world was tearing my heart apart. I will try it for sure! But I am committed to use natural fabrics, like hemp or bamboo, so maybe I will need to add more seam allowances, or something
@StephanieRubletz2 жыл бұрын
That's so great! I prefer all natural fabrics for most things as well. The fabric I used was a bamboo terry so it's the knit weave that makes it stretch. I've also made t-shirts out of linen knit. So there are definitely all natural options with a body of stretch. That said, yes, you could totally use a woven fabric and add extra ease. Happy sewing!!

I should also add that cotton jersey would work too so these are a good opportunity to reuse an old t-shirt

Great quick video! I’ve got an awesome pair of headphones and the pleather is flaking off like crazy and, yes… leaving material on my face. I notice that the width of the plastic base behind the cushion on these headphones really taper down which allows for the elastic to stay snug over it. On my headphones the plastic base is almost the same width as the headphone cushion. I was wondering if these covers come off on you while you’re using them or taking them off at all?

Nice tutorial. I just use the easy way. Cut off my old T shirt sleeves and tie it together with a string. I picked the thinness t shirt that's breathable. I wash it when it get dirty. 😁

Yes.Thank you for this. I saw a couple more tutorials, with full covers that went over the recess in the middle. I am now going to try your method, by hand, on my old over ear cushions. The company just replaced my set, and sent them with some other persons' used ear cushions. >:-( One smells like sour sweat, the other like cigarettes.🤢

@StephanieRubletz8 ай бұрын
Oh good question. I don't know about replacing it but I suppose you could cover it. Maybe stitch to the one that's already there. I'm going to have to think on that one
@azrani20233 ай бұрын
Hi there, I repaired or rather protected the headband part from falling apart by using a rectangle piece of fabric and sewing it shut around the headband (never to be taken off again 😀). I put elastics in both of the sides of the fabric rectangle before, so that the protective piece fits snugly around the headband and doesn't budge. In case you will read this, I hope this will be of help to you.

@@StephanieRubletz I did it! 😊😊😊My headset situation was a little different because mine didn't have the whole spongy bit so it had always hurt my ears. What I did was get the spongy bits off another headset that was comfortable but had no cover and no longer worked, and then I made a cover for it using fabric from an old pair of shorts. I made an insert inside the cover to hold the sponge in place. Then I used the elastics from the face masks to secure it. I made a channel around it to run the elastic and it isn't perfect but it works and I'm so very proud. Thanks for the inspiration. I was so happy doing it and now I'm so happy using my headset again. 😊😊😊 Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
