Setting female end on the arms in boiling water for about 20-30 seconds can expand the plastic enough to force them together more easily

The alligator clips link to alliexpress is bad. Do you have a size of clip or a new link for some that will work? Great design!

Wow, I can't believe 3D printing has gotten good enough to print threaded holes. Very impressive. Very nice nice tutorial. Just curious why didn't you just epoxy/glue the clamps into the nozzles? They should rotate well enough at the knuckles to allow for positioning the clamps. That way way there is no need to phaff about removing them and fighting to get them back on.

good point, not sure if that would work so, you can't rotate the elemts of the pipe so easy. As showen it needs a lot of force to put those back in place an its not that easy to even bend the pipe. But one could add a lever i guess ;)

Thanks for sharing. I like this design vs a lot of the others i've seen. I've never 3D printed anything before. Would it be as simple as me just downloading the file and bringing it to someone to 3D print? I go to a university that has a "makers society" where i can pay them to print it. I don't have 3D modeling software on my computer currently, so I am wondering if i need to change any of the settings or any settings that I would need to tell them to set when printing. Can you please provide me with the any answers that may be needed when taking it to get printed?

yes, you should be fine with downloading the STL-File. Print settings are up to you/them, you don't need 100% infill, 30-50 should be just fine. Layer hight is also not that important, i would go with 0.2 mm. And material, depends on you. most things I print are PLA, but everything else should be good too. If you sometimes use hot air neer the mount you should maybe go for ABS... But I think they will explain the rest to you ;)

Are the arms sturdy enough? do they support well a pcb even for desoldering? On my helping hand the board fall when i suck with my desoldering pump
@MakenModify

they are quiet sturdy, ok for desoldering but not great. They get a lot stiffer if you shorten them, but that's a compromise you have to decide on ;)
