Nice job, man. I always like it when kids have learned to build it themselves instead of buying it off Amazon. I just installed '99 Grand Cherokee seats into my '93 XJ. all it took was a 14"x14" 1/8" steel mounting plate fabbed to fit the original slide mech. MUCH more comfortable than the original seats! Next up will be fabricating mounting brackets for the farm jack and traction pads.

You guys just save me over $150, looks simple enough and looks good!!

Very helpful as I have the same rack and some 1/4" plate lying around. If your bolt is thick enough you can drill a small hole through it for padlocks. I'm going to use washers and wingnuts, though 🙃

looks simple enough, dont like it though because when your stuck in the bush, the last thing you want to do is to be playing around trying to unbolt your jack. Not practical for me but thanks for the share!

The last thing you want is to be grocery shopping and someone steals your shovel and axe. I'd go with bolts too

155DangerClose one of those bike locks would work for that

Looks awesome but when I mounted my jack to my tool box on my truck I used wing nuts because made it a lot easier but idk if that's secure enough up on the roof

Garrett Hammond Yeah we bought some wing nuts shortly after recording this, they work alright but we’re prob gona buy some nuts with plastic handles so we can tighten them down more.

I'm definitely doing this. Thank you!

So it has been a while since you posted this. Did anything slide down and smack into your roof? Aside from torquing them down like none other, I didn't see anything to stop that from happening.

I would have welded nuts to the back plate and also welded the back plate to the rack because every time you take the ax off you will make the back plate and nuts fall off and it will be a hassle....go get a friend to do the welding for you if you don't have a welder...then all you have to worry about is the bolts getting lost...so carry a couple extra with you....unless you did this just for looks lol.

Looks good, but how fast can you unmount them?

When you're stuck, is a few extra minutes time really that important?

WHY NOT PUT HOLES IN THE AX AND SHOVEL? THAT WAY TO MAKE SURE IT DOES SLIDE TOO MUCH AND STAY SECURED.

Are wing nuts strong enough to hold the high lift to do you have to use bolts?

Going to get awfully annoying unbolting your axe and shovel when you get stuck
@robedmund99486 ай бұрын
Beats hell out of staying stuck, though!

kinda pointless if any time you need those you have to unbolt them...

Not if you paint it from time to time with used motor oil. My wooden trailer decks look brand new and are almost a decade old. Old farmers hack.
