Clever, really clever! You let that old bike take care of most of the work.

I like it, that's a really good idea. I would probably remove the rear wheel and replace it with the front wheel to lighten it up a bit plus I would keep the brake. Also, having some sort of a front stand to hold it up whenever you need to stop along the way.

I agree with the other person who said if you switch out the wheel with the lighter front wheel, WITH the disc brake (or eliminate the gears on the existing one) that would lighten it up a bit. Also working out some V shaped folding kickstand to keep it upright when not attached would be a plus. The V could fold up somehow. perhaps using part of a aluminum tripod, that could fold up, have a V or tripod 3 leg, and be adjustable up/down might be a plus (AND you might be alble to use it for cameras... also). Putting more weight directly over the rear wheel, and less on the part between the wheel and you would also lighten the load. The tire directly over the axel should carry the most weight. Many people with similar rigs say having the brake going down hill is definitely a huge plus.

You could take this concept to another level and see how much weight a human can actually push or pull using only human power.

I plan on doing it with my old bike, but would keep the break line on the backside to keep the whole weight push me down hill, i am on my 3rd month post achilles surgery and this summer should be fine as long as i dont have the whole weight carried

I did initially but then removed them as they were getting in the way when attaching it to the pack and I wasn’t using them. I think they are more useful when wheeling it in front of you.

@@davidfagan2640 pretty sure honey badger or pack wheel make a E version. As for pvc changing the fork and handle bars would be pretty easy and reducer the weight as they are currently steel

@@Outdoorswithnat great idea, I'll give that a go! Easier to bend too. I've just started making one based on your design. Is there anything you'd do differently?

Not really the hardest part is making it attach to your body so it is stable and comfortable. It needs to be able to pivot up and down but not rock from side to side.
