I know this is an older video but is this shelf stable? Like how long will it last in a mason jar not refrigerated?

Great video, most people use it without cooking. Makes a much better bait after you cook, thanks for sharing.

Add a minimarshmallow and BOOYAH! Floats off the bottom and adds some scent.

What if you don’t have cornmeal can you use corn bread mixing instead of cornmeal if you have corn bread mixing and will the power bait still work if you use cornbread flour mixing. Oh or can you just make it with out cornmeal because I don’t have cornmeal but I have cornbread flour mixing.
@HooksetHank Жыл бұрын
I'm sure it'll work with corn bread mix. But you can make it without the corn meal. Maybe just use a little extra garlic or whatever scent you'd like to use.

Spätzle, a German dumpling, uses eggs and flour. It floats after it's boiled. You might also try some baking powder to get it to float.
@HooksetHank2 жыл бұрын
Hmm, I'll definitely give that a shot next time I make it. Thank you! Never thought about using an egg that's for sure.
@genefulm2 жыл бұрын
@@HooksetHank Let me know if the fish like it. Look up a Spätzle recipe. You could almost just use it the way it turns out - like a little piece of corn. Maybe roll it around in some tuna oil and garlic.

After boiled and the dough goes a bit hard, would the fish still be able to bite on it nornal to set the hook?
@HooksetHank2 жыл бұрын
Yes, normally after it sets in the water for a while it'll soften up some. But if you cook it for too long or too hot it'll become very hard.

Pretty awesome video!! I saw another video where they used Elmer's glue and shaving cream. It floats and you don't have to cook it. I'm assuming the smell of the shaving cream dissapates? They too put garlic in theirs. Hope this helps

buoyancy powder would help it to float.

I've recently see singing like that but I can't seem to get a hold of any. I understand some things can be used to get it to float but it's bad for the fish to consume.

Perhaps if you kneaded it a while - like you do bread - it would have a better consistency.

Eggs are like glue. I was thinking he should be adding eggs. I believe it would help the bait stay on the hook better. I use berkley power bait all the time on the big rainbows we have on lake Roosevelt in North Eastern Washington. It works great but I'm trying to save money. Thanks for the video.
