Best video on the internet for this! Omg, the other ones are so complicated for no reason!

Thank you so much for this! I'm planning to take apart a bonnet I already have to use as a pattern, but it was really helpful to see a similar one being constructed. It’ll definitely guide me when I start assembling mine after cutting the fabric. I have a small suggestion for a future video (though I love the current design!): Instead of using elastic, you could try using a 4-inch strip of stretch satin. If you cut it perpendicular to the grain line (so it stretches along the length), fold it with the right sides together, and sew along the long edge with a serger or zigzag stitch for maximum stretch, you can then ease it onto the bonnet’s opening. This would bunch it up slightly, and you can leave longer ties at the ends to wrap and secure around the head. I find this style easier to put on without disturbing my hair, especially when I'm doing heatless curls or trying to keep my hair smooth, since it’s prone to kinking. I can’t seem to find bonnets long enough for my hair anymore, so it looks like I’m resorting to making my own now-wish me luck! 😂

Satin scorches when you iron, use a layer of organza over the fabric when you apply heat. It will absorb the heat and you can see thru it.

@itssaneD3 жыл бұрын
I used a L shaped French ruler, however if you can also find the comma ruler or a curve ruler it would also work just fine. However this tutorial you can also just free hand the curved part.

Great video .. thanks for the detailed tutorial.... what size would we make for a kid like 8 to 10 years old. [Kid size]
@itssaneD3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Lysia for watching. I would suggest that you take the circumstances of the baby and add 8” to that. That is for the top part of the bonnet where you will insert the elastic. The the length of the bonnet will just depend on how long you want it to be. So an example. Let’s say the child’s head circumference is 18”+8” and you want your desired length to be 20” you should have two satin pieces of fabric 26” by 20” I hope I made sense

Hey Cheryl 😃 Thank you for stopping by my channel and leave this lovely comment. I love it when I get requests 💃🏾💃🏾. For the pajama set, I usually make the easiest clothes from a piece of cloth that I have already as a pattern, but let me check for a free pattern online and try and make the Short pajama sets and sewing of it so that I can put it up. I think it will help me to get out of my comfort zone too. To start using patterns hahaha 😂 Please give me a little time with this request I will definitely let you know when it’s up 😊😊😊🤗🤗

good evening good job.but how many inch did you cut off to make the rounding in the end of the bnonnet
@itssaneD3 жыл бұрын
Hey Denise thank you 🙏🏾 The end of the bonnet doesn’t matter you could just curve it free hand. However the opening where the head will enter you have to measure your head circumference and add maybe 5inches to it, since the elastic will bring the opening to the size of your head circumference. I hope my reply made sense a bit.

Hi, If I don't want to make reversible, can I just use a one fabric? Continue with your great work, you won a new subscriber ♥️👏🏾
@itssaneD3 жыл бұрын
Hey Suely, 🤗🤗🤗 Aww you just made my morning thank you soo much for kind words and for subscribing it’s people like you who make me want to improve and do more. Yes you can definitely use one fabric I think I should make a tutorial one of these days. Using one fabric will be quick and easy. But I would also want you to think about the part of the fabric that will be protecting your hair. So when using one fabric you will have the right side and the wrong side only. The silky part or the right side of the fabric is the one that would work in protecting your hair just a thought you would have to consider. I hope I made sense.
@suelymendonca73003 жыл бұрын
@@itssaneD Yes, I realised and that was really my doubt because the bad side will be inside. But I'll try to do it like this and I'll wait for your tutorial 🤗 Thank u 🙏🏾

Could you just use two pieces of fabric instead of cutting on the fold?
@itssaneD3 жыл бұрын
Hey Gina, I would like to say thank you for stopping by my channel and leaving a comment. I am not sure if I understand the quest. So for the reversible it is two fabrics.
