I'd like to see more about how you hooked up your arches to the light controller and what settings did you use? How many strings of lights, etc.

One set of lights. 50ft I just string them through from one end to the other on each section. I switched them up with pixels this year.

@JoseGonzalez-kc8sg I used amzn.to/3u16ir8 they worked out very well. The hardest part was drilling the holes in the pvc. Took a while, but the results were awesome. Here are some videos www.tiktok.com/@boredguywithacamera?_t=8jDqlqJ1GMl&_r=1

Very nice, I say every year i will add arches to my display but ever year i don't, I am surprised the lights glow inside of the PVC that well, thought most people with them used like the Plex tubing, cause thought it was more see through.. I have watched a couple of your videos now. very cool ideas. I use WLED and also a controller controlled light show at Christmas time, but yours seem to be able to do quite a bit also.

Is there a video that shows the next steps for wiring the leds to light for someone that's never dealt with them before.

There is no wiring, most led strips are plug and play like this amzn.to/3UWSR3x it's all plug and play.

the LED's are bright enough to shine through the pvc pipes?

super cool, definitely trying this in the parts list you added the LED track, was this used in the arches? also the LEDs you had used the previous year with the controller, did they work well?
@BoredGuyWithACamera Жыл бұрын
Sorry for getting back to you this late. No I used the track for the permanent lights on the house.
@SuperReborn23 Жыл бұрын
Maybe I’m missing something but the numbers don’t add up. 10 foot equals 120 inches and if you subtract 88 for the arch that leaves you a 32 inches. You said each bottom is 4‘6“ which converts to 54 inches thus you do not have enough material. The biggest you could make them using your 10 foot pole would be 66 inches.
@BoredGuyWithACamera Жыл бұрын
Oh your ok, one 88 inches in the middle , two 84 inches and 2 80 inches. Leaves to plenty to build 5 arches.
@SuperReborn23 Жыл бұрын
@@BoredGuyWithACamera show your math
@teresaa.mccormack1248 Жыл бұрын
I just tried this and it did not work. There is no way you can cut 4.5' forb the base, have 5.5' left for an arch and it bend into the arch. The arch would be 2' roughly off the ground. I'm using 200psi, everything from the list. Wondering also if these are glued into tees. It made almost a circle with those measurements (for me)

I've been looking to make these this year. Been looking at pex, and anchors. Never thought about putting lights inside. This is interesting. What did it cost for the wntire project roughly? I'm looking at somewhere around $100 for 15 arches. Thanks for the great ideas!
@BoredGuyWithACamera Жыл бұрын
It was around 100 bucks a couple of years ago. Not sure how much the PVC is now. You can use any strip lights as long as they are ip65 and above.

How many strips of LEDs did you use? What kind? 30 or 60 per meter? IP67? I think you need more like 8 10ft pvc pipes 5 for each arch, plus 3 more for the bottom pipes. Right?

Did you mount your LED tracks facing down on the bottom of your fascia boards?
@BoredGuyWithACamera2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the only lights I have facing out are on the garage because I used the corner track on those..TIP I used screws on most of the house, I used heavy duty tape on the garage and they have not moved since I installed them last year.

@@BoredGuyWithACamera OK. I'm going to do the same mounting at the bottom of the fascia board, using the tracks you listed. This solves my issue with the gutters interfering. Thank you.

I plan on trying this this weekend....I noticed that you have holes drilled in the pvc and the T connectors. What was the point here? Did you screw the joints together?
@BoredGuyWithACamera Жыл бұрын
Yes, they screw together so they don't move and are easy to take apart for storage.
@krzsrh Жыл бұрын
@@BoredGuyWithACamera I am definitely putting screws in them next year. They kept popping apart this year. In fact it broke the LED strip when it sprung apart. Most LEDs are basically plug and play.. you literally just plug them into the controller simple as that.
