And for those of you out there complaining about how he had planed his wood. This could have been done with a simple little planer before he had glued it. Show the guy some respect for taking the time to show you his heart. Great work.
@SaintLucifer6664 жыл бұрын
ray flynn exactly, he had to make a shit ton of them for a bar. This guy is obviously in the business. If you’re making one or two for personal use just joint and plane the wood with what you have already. I use my Dewalt planer as a face jointer with a jig I made that also doubles as an edge jointer on the my table saw. Everything else he used I already have .
@SaintLucifer6664 жыл бұрын
@Keith Marlowe hey man I use a Dewalt bench top planer DW735, it’s not the cheapest tool (but it’s still probably cheaper than that big ass sandpaper belt Phillipe changed out in this video). I’m a disabled vet and both blue and orange big box stores gives me 10% off so I saved $60 on It from the blue store. If you are a vet or have a buddy that is , take him with you to the store and have him show his credentials. You can still pay cash or use any card you want to pay after that . Anyway I built a jig exactly like this one in the video link here and as you’ll see it does double duty as a face and edge jointer using the planer for face and table saw for edge, good luck and be safe . kzbin.info/www/bejne/rXe7e6iFfNudgqc

I'm very mixed on my response to your video. I get the people saying that this is not a "DIY" video because of your shop and I would have to agree. The project its self is cool but all the milling required removes it from DIY category. I think this video is mislabeled or misdirected to an audience too. This is finer woodworking with cheaper materials. That's just my opinion and it's worth nothing outside of my head. Thanks for reading.

Who's the target audience? Diy'ers aren't gonna have the "expensive" tools, and if they are total noobs, not understand that this can be done with a jigsaw, drill and sander. Furthermore, the guys like us that have the professional set up aren't building a bench out of pine that'll silver up and rot away much faster than cedar/redwood, Ipe, sapelle/mahogany, or teak/iroko(?). Other than that cool simple build.
