TIPS TO REMEMBER: ♥ To retain color of flowers, press flowers to 4 days only. ♥ Make sure your flowers are pretty dry before you put them in the books to avoid fungus ♥ you can also use fresh flowers in resin directly, only thing, they might change color ♥ Mix your resin well ALWAYS. ♥ EPOXY resin is toxic, so always use a mask and gloves. ♥ alternatively, you can use 'food grade' resin instead if you want to use resin on other objects that you use for food. ♥ if you try this and upload, please use #ArtWithLarsa so I can repost

Hi ,, larrisa thank you for this video.. I also make things with resin and pressed flower.. I want to tell you some tips . 1..Never put fresh flower in resin.. it will ruin your work, because due to heat of resin flowers tend to get darker in color or it will rott over time + fresh flower have higher moisture content then dry flower , so it will create more bubbles in resin.. Over all always use dry flowers or semi dry flower ( but use resin layer by layer) 2.. when resin is not mixed properly or the weight of resin and hardner is not correct , it will not cure properly ,, or you will get flexible piece of half cured resin 3.. in monsoon .resin takes more time to cure because of humidity.. 4.. you can dry flower in silica sand... and dry any flower atleast for 1-2 week..

A (not-so-fun) fun fact: epoxy resin is literally a reactive kind of plastic.. Feel free to fact check on google :) And. We, as humans, are equipped to protect ourselves (with gloves etc.) from the toxicity of the resin but other beings aren’t. When it reaches landfills and gets eaten by animals or flows through our drains to enter water bodies... I leave it up to you to decide how ethical using the resin really is.

Hey larissa they look amazing i would just give a few tips as I’m a resin artist Firstly whenever there are bubbles use a blow torch or heat gun to get even finish for ur final products. Real flowers always lose their colour if comes in contact with resin and dries up. So its always suggested to press the flower n then use it. A gel known as silica gel is also available which u can use to dry the flowers and it stays the same after drying also. For the resin and hardener let the product stay for longer time so that it settles well n dries up completely The resin which u used had the ratio for 3:1 a little up n down is completey fine Always wear gloves and mask as resin causes migraine issues also I hope this was helpful to you 😊 Big fan ❤️ i love you

Hey Larissa! It isn't right to use a dead butterfly or sea shells or anything that's related to the organisms how big or small it is. There are birds and other inscects that feed on it, they play a very essential part in the micro-ecosystem. Thank you for understanding!

@@deepikadinodia8944 1st of all for me, butterfly is always beautiful wheather It's alive or dead. 2nd, neither Me or She (Larissa) has not killed that butterfly. Instead of that dead butterfly goes in trash or some uneven place, she is using it in her beautiful art so a dead butterfly stays there forever.

As a beginner resin artist I'll not suggest pressing flowers in specifically big flowers.. neither pressing them in books... You can press small flowers by means which have 5-6 petals...home pressed flowers tends to get yellow after putting them in resin... I mean resin look beautiful when it's clear/ transparent.. P.s.Buy pressed flowers on Amazon in that case or on Instagram shop...
@Gullify44 жыл бұрын

well, you can use felt and cotton to dry flowers. then you can microwave them...and they dont lose colours after that. and using fresh flowers in resin was my worst idea. it was actually my first resin project and i ruined it by using fresh flowers. resin is expensive so i still regret it to this day. but.....it was my first time so i guess its okay! 😂 the butterfly thing was actually impressive by the way. just that i dont get dead butterflies every now and then 😝
