I removed my PPF less than a week in. New to the whole experience and didn’t realize half the hood meant a straight visible line all the way across. Wasn’t waiting for the install company to get it off. It came off ok with some effort. No paint damage or material left behind. Your fingers must be used to this. I got blisters unfortunately. 😂

Haha! Blisters can happen when removing PPF if you are not careful.

I have had many people want to charge me an arm and a leg to remove mine. I somehow am getting mold under mine in very small spots. What would be a reasonable price to pay for a 2019 Toyota Tacoma hood? Thanks .

I pulled 1 yr old film and peeled it across the film itself, just like you said not to in the beginning. 😂 It was just a headlight and it took me a LOT of time and iso alcohol to get the adhesive off. I don't ever want to do it again.

What is the advantage of water & towel combo vs the streamer? And What brand film was this? Something from 2016 isn’t that old compared to my 2003 - that stuff was a nightmare… it came of like a sunburn: tiny flakes. Also this is a white vehicle which never got super hot from the sun. My current car is medium blue in FL so the UV damage to the film is bad, so it breaks apart when pulled. In areas that got less sun it comes off pretty easy but the top surfaces ummm no so lucky, stuck hard there. Regardless it protected the paint underneath so I’m recovering it.

Advantage of this method is that the towel will hold the warmth and therefore keep the film softened and easier to remove. Steam you have to be constantly steaming the area. If you don’t it cools down and the film becomes harder to pull. Hope this makes sense.

mine was twelve years old. I don't think this would work. But I got it off using a steamer and chemical, with plastic blades.

Sorry but I can't believe that has been on since 2016,its just way to clean. My 2017 was a pain and the edges were very dirty. That stuff is spotless y you even taking it off ?

The reason for the removal was because the film was damaged, and the edges were not wrapped. This customer kept his vehicle clean so dirt didnt build up on the edges. Plus if you take the time, PPF removal doesn't have to be a pain. Use hot water or a steamer and take your time and you will be just fine.

If it's new you can just peel it right off, after a few years it looks NOTHING like this. I just removed mine and it crumbled there's no way to "peel" it off. Just plastic scrapers a cheap steamer and about 2 hours. Then googone and another 1/2 hour to remove the glue.
