There are a lot of these cars still around. Unfortunately a lot have been wrecked or otherwise worn out because they are 20+ years old and many have run more than 200k miles before the engine and/or transmission failed. This means there are a lot of used parts available on eBay, Facebook Marketplace, and in recycling yards. There is also a good supply of aftermarket parts for this generation Accord. I have a car like this one and have found it well designed and fairly easy to work on (I have the 4 cylinder engine not the V6). I have been able to do a number of repairs myself including replacing a failed door lock actuator and fixing the drain hoses for the moon roof that were not working correctly. I also replaced the inner tail lights that were leaking water into the trunk. By this time my car has parts from several other similar cars on it but it still runs well after 126,000 miles.

Thank you this video! As an additional solution for someone with this issue, replacing the Heater Control Assembly (Part No.: 79600-S84-A01ZA). My dealership wanted about $300 for this part. Ebay was around $90. My local Pull-a-part charged me $17.61 and the part barely used! LPT: Sign up to receive emails when your local Pull a part receives a specific vehicle you're interested in.

And how can it be replaced?
@parkerrogers22774 жыл бұрын
humanyoda humanyoda At 3:10 in the video above he removed a red and green connector from the climate control assembly. There are around 4-6 screws that hold it to the plastic frame he is replacing in this video.

I had the same issues, some of vent buttons stops working intermittently, then later everything doesn't work. I took the climate control panel apart and removed the circuit board. I hooked it the the harness and predictably it not working until I bend the board slightly. I started pressing soldiered components and found one of the resistors (R5) is not properly soldiered and losing contact. Used my soldering iron and fixed the loose resistor. Just a warning, the white colored plastic case, holding the circuit board and buttons, is made from poor quality plastic and breaks easily.
@Anguilla20013 жыл бұрын
thanks, mine is doing the same thing, I'm going to look for a new panel, I'm just worried it's some electrical problem deep in the engine bay, we'll see but this seems to work, I'll try it thank you.

I think I figured out how to fix this: I have a 2001 Honda Accord LX V6 3.0 and the AC control lights all went out, could not switch the vent modes, could not activate the AC, but the fan control knob worked fine and controlled the fan fine. the lights came on intermittently and I was able to use AC for a few minutes and it would go out during a drive. it seemed like a battery was dying so I ripped out the center dashboard and remove the circuit board for the AC controls. there are 5 capacitors on mine , I replaced them all and it seems to work fine now. one capacitor I replaced matched the capacitance and voltage but was half the size, I'm guessing it is a low ESR capacitor. I replaced it with the next voltage up which was closer to the size of the old cap, all the others I had no problem. the original caps are japanese nichicon, which is one of the top brands. I tried to do the jumper mod which didn't work at all. so if you lose lights and controls for the AC buttons try replacing all the caps, preferably with nichicon
