I've been in the industry for almost 40yrs learning from the best my mom and dad back when i was 18yrs old at some point they pass away and I open my own upholstery business in honor of them at the age of 23yrs old then hardwork pays off i got married and had 4 beautiful childrens with the help of my wife my 3 children finish their college degree and the youngest still in school god gave me the best job of the world i know it's kind a messy to work on an upholstery but it also an art for us upholsteror. Godbless as all

I am so grateful to have your expertise to follow. I have a sofa that I love but couldn't figure out how to reupholster by just looking at it. Your video answered all the questions I have and took the mystery out of it. I also have viewed your video on what tools you use, terrific. Exactly what kind of glue gun do you use, I would love to obtain one of those. I am about to embark on a new adventure, thanks to you kind sir!!

I was looking for some ideas on how to reform my old sofa, thanks to you I think I can do some other things too. I do have some of the equipment but not all of them.. I guess I will need to visit some stores specialize in this type of work. But thank you for shearing your beautiful work with us. Your job is beautiful and clean .... so sorry that you are not in my country (Dominican Republic) but Canada. I also visit your web page and was impress with your work... On my opinion this is other way of art. Congratulations!!!

Hi, this was worth the watch. You basically drape the fabric without a pattern. I was surprised how little sewing there is as I expected the pieces to be sewn together before fitting and stapling the fabric. I suppose that approach could work for a slip cover as apposed to a complete reupholster job? However my sofa which does need new upholstery appears to have seams around the arms as apposed to tucks. Ultimately your method may be easier?

Wow Darren! Now I understand why sofas/couches are so expensive. I was planning to trash my Mum's but after seeing prices decided perhaps reupholstering would be an option. I would love to see you do something different though; for example a tufted back sofa changed to non-tufted, removing arms completely, but would really, really love to see one modified to a Risom strap-style sofa instead of the traditional foam sofa.

Very Useful Video. I have a cheep sofa i'l like to work on, Fabrics ads faded and the Arm rest is destroyed beneath the upholstery so i searched google DIY UPHOLSTERY and that's how i ended up here. Your work's more advanced and Professional I do House Painting and decoration , not a carpenter but i like doing carpentry.... so i will try my hands, improvise with the tools i have and see what the outcome will be like.

They are called Pneumatic Stapler Guns, we use them mostly for upholstery. Also the gun should be used with an air compressor.
