Fantastic job!!!! I was a professional artist for many years, and I ALWAYS stretched my own canvases. Especially for custom commissions. If I may, you could invest in a nice pair of canvas pliers, from any art supply, and save your hands🤗

Super Inspirational! Just finished stretching a 44 x 60 canvas. Canvas pliers are the bomb….plus….my staple gun has a setting for 'wire'. This simply means that the gun will fire the staple in 3/4 of the way… This makes it easy to remove the staple with a pair of pliers for fine-tuning that canvas, and when you are happy, then you just hammer them home.

Fantastic! I love that the 2/3rds rule with regards to sofa size and art was ignored. We have a huge canvas of a place we have wonderful memories of. It does not meet designer rules but it makes our hearts happy every time we look at it which is throughout the day. One's home should make all people living feel comforted, comfortable and secure. Decor should serve to remind all inhabitants, children included, of the happiest times and hold what is relevant to each persons needs. Ego, showing off, wanting to impress others who live outside the home has nothing to do with family comfort and everything to do with the decorator being insecure and trapped in ego.. Decorating to impress others can even deny a homes inhabitants comfort and joy. Home is where the heart is if each heart within the home is allowed to shine to it's own beat.

As an artist I would highly recommend using thicker wood. The thin ones will warp over time. Use 2" thick instead of 1" thick pieces. they also look more finished and professional like pieces in a gallery. Also a piece that size will need a lot more cross bracing. But the canvas drop cloth is a great idea.

I used to work in home depots lumber section. From what I was told, back in the day there was a "nominal" size, which is the "2 by 4" or "2 by 10," etc. That's the size that they cut from the logs. After that they would dry it in a kiln and plane it so it's more or less flat on all sides, so it can be used in construction. This drying and planing process would leave it smaller than when it was cut, but the habit of calling it 2 x 4 stuck around. Modern methods change this process a little but the final size is roughly what a 2 x 4 *used* to be after it was dried and planed.

You did such a Great Job! I love the lamps 😭😭 i have been looking for them every were. IT is sold out and have not found them and facebook marketplace and stuff. Can i give you a tip! When you make canvas you should prep it before painting. You prep so the paint Will not soak in the fabric and rot it over time. The prepping Will also make the fabric tight like a drum. You prep the canvas with water(60%) and pva glue(40%). you coat the entire canvas. Let it dry and begin painting. 😁 Aspecially smart to do IT you are using spackle and stuff. Because it is heavy and can make the fabric droup. I am sorry for spelling errors, i am not American 😁
