My cousin has a camper very much like this built on a 90 Chevy chassis. They’ve been all over the US in it and as far south as Costa Rica and it doesn’t even have 4wd. This is the coolest rig.

What a great build, I’ve seen some British people do the same with a Land Rover army field ambulance, think this Humvee is cooler though, they make great vehicles to convert and are built for rough terrain too.

1:48 Random tidbit for anybody else that doesnt know, do NOT drive around and display or use the Canadian Red Cross logo, its against the Geneva Convention to have or display any red cross with a white background because of the intent and purpose of what the symbol means. Not nitpicking the video in any way, just happened to notice where they removed it from the side as this was an old military ambulance basically and wanted to bring it up and mention it for others.

I saw the thumbnail and could smell the back of that FLA. It's basically a second home for any army medic! I could never openly admit it, but I've always loved the idea of turning one of these into a camper.

Looks awesome! For the receptacles, I believe it was Leviton making ones with spring loaded connections which would be nice for the vibrations. Also, the four little "ears" on the receptacles can be removed to allow it to sit flush in the old work style boxes.

You guys did a great job! But the cut outs of the counter top should be sealed with calk, to prevent water getting into the bare wood! Should be done befor putting in sink and extras!

Just curious what you used to insulate. Usually with van and box builds i see them use either reflective sheets or styro filler. Still takes away from interior useable space, but you guys used every inch of the interior which is amazing.

I am thinking about doing something similar and found a running ambulance but the owner only has an SF97 for it. Do you know anything about titling it secondhand? Also, how thick are the ambulance walls? It doesn’t have the rear doors so I need to manufacture that and I was just curious as you cut windows and such.
