Beautiful job! Very small and very fast! I guess it is for kiting. What kind of cloth did you use to laminate? It looks like it has a shiny plastic liner to keep it together. You used vegetable shortening for your mold release? Does that work to release the mast screws also? (or maybe you removed when still soft.)

Hey man, great work, keep enjoying it. Bit curious, how much thick this is? 2cm?

look like the tintin rocket, hope we will see it tested soon =).

do you have issues with the mast / foil connection wearing out or not being strong enough ?
@HANDIY2 ай бұрын
no issues so far. THe mast still fits very tightly into the foils. But technically if it wore out, I would simply add a light coat of epoxy to the mast end that fits into the foil and it would be very tight again.
@StefanWelker2 ай бұрын
@@HANDIY i was worried about stress points against the mast because with aluminum mast / fuse connections there is often a tuttle like piece that is inserted into the fuse, where there is a direct connection with yours, maybe that problem is nonexistent with the hardness and because carbon does not bend... your foils are certainly quite an impressive work, given that most manufacturers fill the inside of foils with a foam piece, maybe the plywood exceeds that strength by quite a bit. Do you just eyeball the airfoil shape with experience or do you make it with a template ?
@HANDIY2 ай бұрын
@@StefanWelker I Eyeball my shapes, yes plywood with the right amount of carbon is serioulsy strong.But connection points of my foil are always surrounded by just epoxy/filler/carbon.

Do the wings have any degrees of attack in relation to one another? Cheers
