A year or two ago, I bought replacement LED lamps to replace the florescent lamps in my 2 slots. They are 120 vac. When I finally got time to do the modifications, I saw that my ballasts are fed by 25 vdc! I guess I will have to run 120 vac to the lamp fixtures.

Very easy to do. That's what I did in my video here. Tossed that old ballast and started out for good! The heat those ballast and florescent tubes make it brutal in a home setting. Now I know why the casino's were always freezing back in the day!

I have a pachislo slot and it uses a t8 13inch florescent tube. It wasn't readly available at my local hardware stores. I instead ran a 12v power supply and used a LED strip light it looks great. far cheaper then the tube lights from amazon. Now it had me thinkning i can now use programable LED instead.

Thank you very much! Ordered the bulbs and did exactly what I saw and worked perfect! Now only if I can get the belly glass lamp to work, keeps blowing a fuse every time I wire it. Also, can this be done the same way with a Bally 6000 machine?

Awesome! Just confirm the voltage is 120 going to the wires for the lamps and you should be fine.

So I have the same set up as you to a T. I Did the same as your video and put my led bulb in and it will blink at start up and that's it. Light does not stay on. Any Ideas I'm pretty handy checked all connections they are fine. ??????

Might be your sockets the lamps plug into. I've seen those go bad before. Do all of them blink? Did you swap out all 3? If you move the LED tube around to the other locations do they still blink?

@@jimchaudrue7675 Sockets look to be in great condition. I did not do the others yet wanted to make sure it was gonna work first. It doesn't even blink now I think it blew it. Is it a special led bulb?

Don't they make LED tube drop in replacements that don't require any re-wiring? I thought they did but I might be mistaken

They do make them but this is the cleanest way removing the old transformer and starter. Weight and heat will come down. Not sure how long the LED tubes would last still using the transformer.

Can you help me determine what I did wrong? I’m pretty sure I did what you showed, but now I blow a fuse every time I turn the machine on with a bulb in it.

Hi Mike I literally just did another machine today and followed the steps in the video and no issues. I did notice on the reels led you have to watch that molex connector it's one wire on the top and the other wire on the other side. On the belly they are next to each other. Cut off all the zip ties and make sure you have both wires from each side of the lamp socket together and then one lead goes into each power wire coming in. I'm sure you got a wire crossed and you are feeding the voltage back into it's self.

How did you get the glass off?!

Open the door and in the middle of the chrome piece on the top glass you’ll see a small notch that you can get your finger in there and just push it up and pull it toward you to get it out.

Just confirm there is 120VAC coming to the transformer in and you should be able to do it

My top had black and white wires but now the belly glass has all black wires wha t do I do

You would have to follow the wires back to the transformer and starter and see if there is a different color along the way. Possible a wire broke in the door (common from open and closing them all the time at the casino) and just replaced the white with a black wire they had laying around. I would do that first and see what you find.

Hi Ray, Well you might need to get the bill validator chip for it. I know when you change the battery and loose all the settings, you'll need to run the bill validator chip as well. I need to do it on mine still but I think if you look that up on here you should find some vids how to do it. Good luck!

I have 3 machines now this needs to be done on. I do have the chips. If I can, I'll make another how to video on that. It requires removing a chip and putting one back in to get the BV working again. That also goes dead on a battery change out.
