I used to work for a large slot manufacturer as a QA Engineer. I tested the games. What you said in this video is 100% EXACTLY ACCURATE. All of the games we created had numerous mapping tables. Sometimes, the games were so complex that I would have to contact the programmer or mathematician so they can explain to me the math. The games were super complex. But I can tell you with confidence that all games can hit the top jackpot on every single spin, or bonus round, etc. The low paying symbols are highly weighted, however. This is why you never seem to get top awards but it is possible.

This is bullshit. I was at a casino and there were three machines that were running super slow whereas when the wild were coming around the wheel, the players could stop the machine so that it stopped exactly where the line was when they stopped it. There are machines where you can stop individual rows. These machines were this type so I watched this gambler next to me stop the reels on a nearly full screen of wilds every time they were in vision. Also, the casino can change the machines to be heavily weighted toward losing spins during the r & g spins as well. Certainly there are machines that will stop on the predetermined character. You can actually see the reels jump by the pictures on the screen at the time you stop it and goes to the predetermined finish. So not all machines run the same. You can't tell me the casino doesn't have control over how much money they make. Otherwise, every one of them would go broke. If the randomizer is truelove random, it would be possible for the casino to lose. It may be random but the machines are set to randomly Pic the bigger reels less or more times depending on how they set the machine.

This video about telling you to go watching You Tube of live players playing the slots should tell you everything you need to know about how much cash they take and hopefully you are the one who hits that great bonus payout which generally ends in disappointment. But I absolutely get the thrill though and why these extreme volatility are so popular, they are literally addictive as fk. When I first quit, I would fire up a live stream of slot plays and would smile to myself when I see $1000 deposited and lost inside 20 minutes and those were micro stakes. The longer I stayed off slots the easiest it got just by watching others lose and if they did win big, it was often less and they had put in anyway. If you really really want to quit, I suggest you watch live slot players on streams and see how much they actually lose, even better if you can watch all their sessions just to grasp who really is the winner. I am now just so annoyed it took 41 years, missing out on my two kids growing up because slots came before anything and decades later they became my antidepressant, my go to when I was having bad days, weeks months and even years. The one bit of advice I can give is, KEEP YOUR KIDS AWAY FROM SEEING YOU GAMBLE. They will follow you when they get older I promise you that.

I know she took legal advice but I never followed up on how that turned out. But to offer her a free steak meal in an absolute insult. It just shows you the greed in that casino business. So I'd love to hear this experts view on that case. I'd like to ask him, can a slot machine be faulty and mistakenly pay out a large sum ? I think not myself, not by what he explains in this video. It's all about numbers and luck. I hope that woman took that casino to court...

@STHFGDBY13 күн бұрын
@@ShellyParchman But the machine didn't display that rule as far as I understand, and how can a slot machine display the possibility of winning up to a million when it doesn't pay that amount ? Isn't that a reason for someone to play the machine in the first place ? So regardless of the house rules, they exercised deceit by not making it clear what the maximum payout was. She at least should have received over 6.5 grand and not the offer of a free steak dinner.

Casino tech here, all machines have a disclaimer clearly printed on it or even displayed in the game that states “ malfunction voids all pays and plays”. They can malfunction, and when they do it always leads to outrageous numbers. We had a game retrigger over 212 times. When something like that happens, we had to verify with the vendor whether that was within parameters and that the final outcome was valid. In this case it was and we payed out the hand pay but if they had found fault in the outcome, that malfunction would have voided the play and the pay. Machines will fault. That’s why we upkeep them and why we have servers so we can validate wins

@trihardcx93954 ай бұрын
He's an industry plant. Firstly if people put in a lot of money into a machine it does pay out more. Also he didnt talk about bet size correlation to hitting grand or major jackpot. The higher the bet size, the easier you hit progressives. If you play on 50 cents u can spin 100000 times and not hit a major. But if you play on 5€, 10€, 12,50€ etc u hit majors very easily and also u get a lot of dollar storm super grand chance. Also machines are programmed to have cold and hot streaks and do have specific programming apart from pure simple algorithms. It does calculate how much money u have put in the machine. Remember when you are low on money it shows you massive numbers but only 5 balls instead of 6 so the feature doesnt trigger? Yeah its not random..at least newer machines are way more sophisticated than the virtual roulette he makes it out to be. As he said he worked for and with the gambling industry so naturally, as with other things in life, dont trust nobody especially not industry plantw with an agenda

@@GambleSmart This paper is from 2009, and the citations are from 2004. So it observed 20 year old canadian machines. This is in no correlation to state of the art machines. I believe you might be right about old ass machines like the diamond one in your video, but newer machines are not that simple. I refuse to believe and i would bet money that I'm right. There are way more variables and hot or cold machines are not just a feeling but for sure in some way shape or form programmed into the algorithm, far beyond a simple probability chart. Maybe you can convince your fans who are "believers" anyway, but this is just not true. I guess this discussion can be held to infinity since we wouldnt be able to tell unless we see the real game code. Which of course will never happen because this industry thrives off its secrecy

Where is your proof besides “I’ve noticed”? I talk to game designers and mathematicians all the time. Newer machines work the same as the older when it comes to the probability distributions. Thank you for this video. The RNG used in a slot machine reminds me a lot of how the numbers are chosen for state lotteries. Just because a number frequently pops up on a state lottery doesn't mean its a good number to select. On the flip side, just because a number hasn't come up in the last 99 draws doesn't mean it's due to pop up soon. I used to work with a guy that used a spread sheet and the Winning numbers from the last 100 lotto draws to help him figure out which lotto numbers to select for the next draw. Bless his heart, he never won. I kind of miss the old slot machines with a single pay line that used cherries, bells, plums, oranges, and a jackpot. Those machines seemed more mechanical than electronic, but they were what I cut my teeth on as a young gambler. You may not win much, but they were a lot of fun. I get too confused with multiple pay lines and funky symbols. But my wife seems to enjoy those

I work in a casino, not in the slots. I have a regular customer that seems to hit big (over $1000) at least 3 times a week. She says she waits until the machine's progressive gets to a certain number she starts playing. She never puts in more than $200. So she's a slot winner. My question is: Is it true that a machine will hit more frequently when it gets close to the machine's max progressive amount.
@GambleSmart4 ай бұрын
Only if it’s a must hit by or must win by progressive. It will be clearly labeled as such. All other progressives have equal chance of winning on each spin.

From my observations, I used to think that the "eye in the sky" people were watching and that they had a way to mercifully manipulate slots that the elderly/retired ppl were playing and possibly help them win. But now that I'm retired, I can't afford to go and see if it's true!☹️
@patcare3725 ай бұрын
I like your video. However, as a lifelong gambler I have to disagree with something. These slots may be random when the generator picks it's number. BUT, I have gambled FAR too much over the course of 30 years (every day) to agree with the fact that machines do not have hot and cold cycles. They do. So that RNG has to be going thru a much much larger bank of numbers that are going to PAY or a much much larger bank that WONT PAY when it's hot and cold. I've sat on games for HOURS and hit nothing after nothing, and the next day the same game is hitting every 5 spin bonuses for an hour. That is not random. This has happened far too often for it to be coincidence. I think you should also clarify that these happenings are only based on CLASS III gaming machines and not the bingo machines or the state lottery machines.
@GambleSmart5 ай бұрын
There are certainly hot and cold cycles, not disputing that. But they are not programmed to be hot and cold. This is just the result of randomness with a large set of probabilites.
@karenkramer37605 ай бұрын
@@GambleSmart Can you elaborate on that. Maybe do a video on it. I've noticed this happening on Dragon Link machines. I play every day and also observe people playing. One machine or two machines out of 8 will be hitting over and over. And the others won't nearly as much. One time I asked a worker about it. He said it wasn't just a random generator at work, but the machine can only give out so much money during a certain time.
@karenkramer37605 ай бұрын
You are so right. I've observed this with Dragon Link machines over and over again.

I’ve been making/designing these games for many years. Those ‘streaks’ are result of randomness and the human brain that are hardwired to want to see patterns. We once had a customer survey where we could sit and watch how they answered to certain questions, and the ‘theories’ people were CONVINCED was happening, was just ridiculous. Not blaiming anyone. I used to think I had a VERY good idea of how things were ‘calculated’ to work until I started to make them myself. Your observations are again: merely a result of you wanting to see a pattern in what is really a result of randomness and volatility 😊

1 major thing you forgot to mention is that most casinos don’t own the machines they are rented, with that said the so called “ life” of the machine is only the amount of time the casino has it. They rotate through machines like crazy. So if a machine payout is exceeding its 80% and say it’s only it’s at 70-60% then that machine will be switched out wit a new machine to keep that 80-20% ratio. I worked at a casino for 8 years :)
@brandonpatterson57053 ай бұрын
And your best odds to win isn’t through slots it’s at the tables.
@frankob645 ай бұрын
very interesting indeed but I have a question , If the payback is 94% over the lifetime of the machine and it is supposed to balance , how does the machine know how long it will be is service ??? I have seen some old machines around Las Vegas
@siohmy4 ай бұрын
As far as I am aware, manufacturers run simulations over millions or billions of spins using the math model designed for the machine. They then arrive at an RTP figure. That has to be within a very small margin of the claimed RTP for the slot itself. It’s possible, especially in Vegas, that the slot will never get that many plays over its lifetime but on average the RTP will be correct. It’s not helpful in the US, unlike the UK there is no requirement to advertise the RTP for any slot. Many “penny” slots on the strip pay less than 90% which frankly is shocking.

So if the casino cannot control that how were all 10 of those slot machines ridiculously hot?
