So I'm trying Insence now for the first time, I bought them out of impulse just like sure let me hive it a try, I came to realize though that I actually need a holder for it to burn on & I bought these things in the city, where I live, they can't be found, so it's nice to see that I can actually just make a holder from stuff laying around.

I just bought incense for the first time today, even though my grocery store, always had it. Bought. Gonesh Sticks Black Cherry, Jasmine, Patchouli, Nag Champa, and Lavender incense, and now to find a fire proof incense holder.

If you don't feel comfortable with a drill, a hammer and a nail will do as well! You can shimmy something underneath the nail to make sure it doesn't move.

Right now in rotation I have all PF Candle Co. incense - teakwood and tobacco, piñon and golden coast. Piñon is my favorite at the moment!

I think so but wax is easy to remove! Pour boiling water into it and it will raise in 5 minutes.

I did the same but I'm having issues with ashes dropping outside of the candle jar and I use a large jar. Any ideas besides using a plate sized jar? Lol

Kaja Capi: You can definitely use salt to fill a jar, no problem. If you DO want sand though (or anyone else lol), there's quite a few options on where a person can get some. - Easiest and cheapest place to get sand would probably be Walmart. At mine, they sell 42oz bags of either pure white sand, or sand/stone granules in the craft department for $5. You could also shop Target, or anywhere that sells crafts, really. - Dollar Tree (or some other dollar store) might actually have sand! Totally just thought of this. I honestly can't remember if they sell sand, but I do know they have different types of really nice decorative rocks in netted bags for only $1, so they might!! - All hardware stores sell sand, and at least some sell more than just builders or play sand. At Lowes, I once bought some actual beach sand. I know they sell their nice decorative type sand (in small amount-perfect for this project) back in the garden section where they sell indoor house plants and indoor plant soils/fertilizers. - Amazon I'm sure has some good deals if a Prime member or free shipping is offered. A couple of other things I can think of that people may already have around their homes and could use are rice, and...my fav...cat litter. Those are both things that I'm almost positive can be purchased at Family Dollar, too. * MY TIP: When using cat litter...I personally don't use the nice scoopable kind that I use in our kitty litter boxes...too expensive!! Since I've always kept a box of cheap store brand cat litter in my garage year around for accidental spills (it's great for pouring over kerosene, gasoline, or oil spills-tiki torch oil especially), AND for using in an ashtray I keep in my garage, I assumed (correctly) it'd also be perfect to use in a ceramic jar along with my incense sticks! Sorry for the long read(!)...hopefully all this info and rambling will be helpful to someone though. 🙂

the candle one is extra work, you can leave the wax in the candle and just stick your incense into the wax.

Living to DIY with Rachel Metz ok just tried it. Not a good idea to use salt with cones. As in he’s in salt in place of sand. It gathers moisture in transfers heat. I’m going to go you sound instead.

I legit just go outside and blow the ashes off haha or use a can of air gently. I've also ended up mixing it into the sand which you can't even tell. If you don't want that I suggest substituting something that works best for you!

Tiny tip: The singular of incense is INCENSE, not INCENT. If you really want to make it singular, it would be an a STICK OF INCENSE.
