It looks great but I definitely would have fixed the drywall.

Thank you! And trust me it pained me too lol but this was at a friends house and I had limited time/budget to get it done, so it wasn’t worth it since it was getting covered up anyway 😅 functionally and aesthetically it didn’t matter to them at all.

It's all nice and dandy until in 6months you look down and see those little spaces between bars, and realize you have to clean there.... you'll only be able to use a toothbrush and q-tips.😮😢

@@buildingbridget girl...u kilt' it in the 'handy' department, and it IS a huge improvement on the eye....I'm just stuck on practicality (it has to be cleanable...but if their joint is sparse, no clutter, etc. it will probly work great! The color will hide any splatter/spill too.😅 I'm smiling at the way you approach the comments...keep it lighthearted and have fun with it!!!👏🏻😍😅🤣😄💬roll with it...props!!!

@@B.Mega.D Ahaha I appreciate you!! I toootally hear you on it needing to be cleanable. I think since they don't have kids or anything haha they keep their house pretty clean and also the island overhang helps keep dust away. Either way I understand where you're coming from and appreciate your kind approach! 🙏

What a shame the quality work in most homes is just not there anymore, and you dont know it until you take on a mini project like this. I would be wondering what else was half done.

The cool tone gray clashes so bad with that warm and welcoming floor colour imo
@buildingbridgetАй бұрын
Hmmm I think it reads bluer and less gray in person. Their kitchen cabinets are navy blue so this ties in nicely, and they do have a lot of pops of color in their home so I feel like it works. To each their own tho!

@buildingbridget10 күн бұрын
Eh beadboard is a bit more traditional, slats are more modern, so it just depends on your taste.
@Ed_Gein_craftsАй бұрын
Why didnt you fix the drywall it looks like ass under the slats. Either do it right or dont do it at all, it wouldnt have been that hard to fix
@buildingbridgetАй бұрын
It would have taken a full extra day to fix since I live 45 min from their house and would need to go back and get more of my tools, borrow my friends van to get drywall, buy more supplies, replace, tape, mud, etc - all to fix a shoddy drywall job that literally no one will see and my friends did not care about 😅
