When I spend £60 on something I don't want it to fail and have to super glue it together at the manufacturer's instruction... just make a decent valve in the first place! Great pads; shit valves!

Have a brand new static v and it leaks. I held it under water to confirm it was between the valve like you mentioned. Why does my new expensive pad leak like this? First use I was on the ground in the middle of the night!

This is the third time I’ve done this in 2 years. Positive side? The more you do it the easier it is! Lol 😂 Great pads for the price and so far a good value.

@@PapajosTraders Yeah. No problem. By hand too. A strong enough twist breaks the seal. I should do it again before spring in my pads. Thanks for the reminder.

I'm glad this information is out there, but why use superglue? Wouldn't a silicone sealant give a more reliable seal there? Or is there something about silicone that will ruin the valve or pad fabric?

Is there something better to use? I'm thinking like pipe dope or Loctite thread locker, but not superglue. Superglue seems like it would cause problems in the long run. As other mentioned it's moderately permanent, so its seems like a bad thing to do.

i received my klymit static v sleeping pad 45 days ago. The valve is leaking and i dont want to super glue it. Do you think duck tape or flex tape would work? Or is it possible to get a replacement?

Same thing my StaticV slow leak starting 2nd week rendering pad unusable. For $70 they couldn't choose valve fail seems common issue? How long does super glue fix work, this is really disappointing

Hello Marshall, the superglue fix will solve the slow leak if it's coming from the valve. We have our support staff prepped if you run into any other issues. I gave them a heads up so you can get a quick response.

Thanks for this video. I will try this on my valve. However, I noticed a not that slow leak within the second valve (the one where a pump can be attached) of my inertia xlite pad. It happened very quickly after purchase. Any idea on how to fix this quickly?

I can see what appears to be a serious flaw with this...you have super glued the valve in which will render it impossible to remove in the future, so what happens when you need to remove it to replace because of another leak after it has been super glued together?

Its happening to me right now. Bought it a few months ago. Finally tried it a week ago before using it in the field and its seeping air. Used super glue and now i cant take it out but still leaks. Now my trip is with no sleeping pad...

nice that you guys made a tutorial for leaking issues with this valve! but why you produce / use them when you know that they have leaking problems? I have a static v insulated matt and the sleeping comfort is amazing but I have the leaking problem with the valve... so i think for this price you could use a better valve ;)

i have a "slow leaking" problem with my brand new klymit insulated lite pad. After watching this video i inspected the valve and guess what, it wasn't pushed all the way in from the factory, wich made it spin and slowly leak (wich i confirmed underwater). I just pushed it all the way, didn't use any glue, and now it it much better, just 1 bubble every second, compared to many bubbles. I still think this is ridiculuous to have such issues with a produtc of this category, but at least it helped. You need to do a better job that this, Klymit!

poor valve design. seems everyones leaks. got 5 uses out of mine and leaks. took it apart and doesnt seem to be any sealant or glue used from factory, saw no residue or sign its used on the stem. trying to find a replacement valve on your page but not seeing any. may need to replace it now if this doesnt work. or their not avail and have to send it in?

Seems this a very common problem . My first nights sleep on mystatic v and I would have been more comfortable on a cheap foam roll mat as it was flat as a pancake on first morning of using. Disgusted is an understatement

I don't think this is my problem. I think my leak is where the valve attaches to the mat. I removed the rubber, glued it and put it back in. Seems to work. This is the second leak I have repaired. I wish I bought a foam mattress.

This is ridiculous... Do I need to bring a super glue every time when I go camping? I have just bought a brand new Insulated V Luxe from Amazon and it has a slow leak. The issue with your product design, stupid! What are the benefits of your valve instead of the traditional ones?

Nope, they have not. Mine worked great for my first two trips. The third trip, Grandfather Mountain NC, was extremely strenuous and exhausting. I was really looking forward to sleep but the pad went flat in fifteen minutes. Very long night...

@klymit You should be replacing everyones pads with new ones free of charge!! Do you realize what a giant inconvenience this has caused. Failed when it mattered the most? I can't even explain?? This thing has ruined my night so many times. I am not going to super glue my valve. Super glue is not air tight

Poor engineering to begin with. They could have used an o ring instead of just to circular grooves that leak in short order. US poor quality is what it is.
