I just replaced one of my Rubicon faucet handles. The hot water side had broken on my old one. This video was very helpful! I had a bit of trouble un-clicking the hose that connects to the faucet but did manage to do it and click the new one into place. Thanks!

@@DIYProjectsByDave thank you for sharing...it's great, nice and neat. I have double sinks I want to change out, this footage saved me about 600 bucks to take my time and do it myself as a woman. It covers everything, from how to do it properly and the what if's running into trouble....my main concern was taking the faucet itself off, you covered it, I may need to cut the line with a hacksaw or something, then wrench it off made it simple. thank you so very much💜

Thanks for the instructive video, but my big question is how to you end up cutting the connection to the spout underneath the sink. All of the other parts of this, I could understand and do myself. That part worried me - from the special sink wrench to the shot of the cut drain pipe. Yikes!

Thanks for the video. I have the same faucets that were installed by a contractor. He's got the hot water handle just slightly askew. I'm sure no one but me would notice but it's bugged me for years. 🙃Now I know how to loosen and adjust it.

What do you do to straighten the handles? The hot is not straight across in the off position.

At 6:38 your helper held the stem assembly above the sink while you loosened the nut under the sink. Did you use an adjustable wrench on that nut? Any difficulties in reaching it or in getting it loose?
@DIYProjectsByDave2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching! Yes, I did have some trouble getting the old nut off. Normally an adjustable wrench or a plumbers sink wrench works just fine. But this one was very rusty and I could not get it loose. I ended up using a hacksaw and cutting the bottom of the stem off so it was short enough I could get a socket wrench on it with a few extensions from the bottom.

We just installed similar Koehler faucets and the tee connector is leaking on both. Swapped them out for the same part and still leaking. Any common issues here we should be looking out for?
@DIYProjectsByDave2 жыл бұрын
Sorry to hear that you are having a problem with it's leaking. I would check to make sure that everything is clean and the seals are not damaged before you put it together. Also when you push it together make sure the tabs on the hose are lined up so they click into the slots in the tee (you should hear them click when pushed in all the way.) Thank you for watching.

You didn’t replace the drain to p trap which might be the most difficult and tricky. Btw. Most faucet set come with a rubber/silicon seal for you to mount between the bottom of faucet and sink top. Plumber putty usually is not necessary specially on a big name brand such as Kohler.
@MattyMCcRollin17z2 жыл бұрын
The directions actually say to use plumbers putty at the base of each handle. I don’t understand why as the new ones come with the rubber gaskets to prevent water from going down into the vanity. I still use a small bead around each one just to be safe.

Does anyone know how to remove the handles? do they unscrew or pull off?
@DIYProjectsByDave3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Do you mean the new one or the old ones? The old one you need unscrew from the top. See from 6:07. Thanks.
@fightthewind27553 жыл бұрын
@@DIYProjectsByDave it’s from 2018 Kohler Rubicon 8” widespread faucet, The handles don’t seem to unscrew from the base like other models. I called Kohler, the service tech said you simply pull the handles off and snap them back on, I pulled on it but I don’t wanna break it I’m not sure if they gave me the correct information
@DIYProjectsByDave3 жыл бұрын
I see... You mean the top handle part of the valve? Hmm we've never tried that. Maybe Kohler is right. Not sure... Unfortunately we didn't do this project in our own home and we can't check it. Sorry 😐

Install the water lines before putting valves into the sink-hole. Try doing this by yourself in a tiny cabinet with ph*cked-up plumbing and a disgruntled customer who is clueless and does not want to pay fairly. And has a very filthy bathroom and a cabinet stuffed full to the brim with trash and junk.
