If you go to an African market or store, look for dark yellow/golden color and the scent should smell "nutty". You can melt it with a double boil method or do what she's doing. Cutting it into smaller pieces can also help melt it faster. I have found, through my own hair journey that the more natural form of something, the less side effects we tend to have. Our bodies prefer more natural products.

@@ttyngordon Thank you I never know what shea butter is authentic, I remember having one that was a white colour and I broke out in hives. It smelled weird too. I will definitely look for the golden one.

So i made this with your exact measurements and it was soooo lovely it worked great! However, i went to use the next day and it was thick and grainy. How do we keep it the same consistency as when it's just finished mixing?? Also. I realized, after you made the new batch of flaxseed(the one that came out darker) it looked like alot more than your first batch.. but i still followed and added 200g of sheabutter. I'm wondering if i added too much, since i added it to the flaxseed gel i got from the 1/2 cup i made.... Help! Help!
@mszeepro3 ай бұрын
You can use emulsifying wax (there’re are different types) to keep it stable. I also suggested in the video that you can try guar gum to thicken the consistency, this also keeps it stable. As for the measurements, the second gel was more and i mentioned it amounted to 600g. The Shearbutter you used wasn’t much. Just try keeping it stable
@sulysse213 ай бұрын
Yes I did hear the 600g part I just failed to measure the flaxseed gets before I added the shea.. but thank you! I'll try and get the emulsifying wax..I like the Slippery consistency versus the thick!
