You should add some thin black plastic strips inbetween the balls to stop the light bleeding. That would help with the contrast i reckon. Amazing work as always!

I'm currently working on something similiar. Only monochromatic (red) tho, but 64x36 pixels, so total of something like 2304 holes. I originally planned to use black acryllic and drill it using stand drill, but after like 200 holes i gave up, split the panel in half, put it into my CNC and let it drill it for me. It took like 6 or 7 hours, but holes are almost perfectly straight, perfectly aligned. I did broke it obviously, putting 2000 holes into accryllic makes it really fragile, but nothing few drops of super glue couldn't fix. Currently, i'm building drivers for it, and hopefully by summer i'll be finished. This is very nice project to inspire from, and it looks amazing! Great job, thanks YT reccomendations, you earned a new sub! :)

Nice work! I really need to do something like that. FYI, at 0:54 -- you mean safety, not security. (The German word "Sicherheit" translates to at least three different words in English: "safety" is protection against injury, "security" is protection against attack/intrusion/theft/crime, and "confidence" means trust/sureness. If I had to come up with German words to describe these three concepts, I'd say "Unfallschutz", "Angriffsschutz", and "Überzeugung/Vertrauen", respectively.)

You can also use a vlavro bed bottom plate, this plate provides already the required holes ;-) You can also take led strips (in black) with adhesive strip and stick it to the panel, will save you to drill 300 holes. Use small copper nails at the contact points and connect all strips at the back of the panel.
