Thank you for the video It helped with my stress level. Had a litter of 10 Rough Coated Collies (her first litter and she is 4) June 27th ( now Aug 10th 2022) She has been doing fine until yesterday which she had several teats get VERY hard and warm but not hot Temp was 100.7 I put the pups on her to see if they could get some of the congestion out. The milk had no smell or off color. Then I put very warm compresses on her with some GFS (Grape fruit seed extract ) in the water. All the teats seem normal now and will keep up with the compresses Sorry did not have any cabbage LOL Praise God I came across your video I think you saved my mom dog

Ive watched all your videos, you’re the one who has taught me the most in dog breeding. Just wanted to tell you that you are fantastic, thank you for EVERYTHING. It is my first solo dog breeding (I grew up doing this with my father but never had control over everything). First time whelp for my Westie. Great pregnancy, great whelp. I had a pup with a severe cleft palate, you helped me understand in another video that this is not viable and soothed my heart. Now momma has enlarged breasts, you taught me to resolve the issue. Thank you so much, due to this education has saved my girl, and me alot of pain,and money. I also used Bag balm on the swollen parts of the mammary gland which helped keep it from getting scratched and healed an lil scratches or sore spots.

@@LoveMyPups No Thank you if not for the education things could have got real bad fast. It was my 2nd liter, her back 2 memory glands where large, lumpy an swollen, I had no idea what or evn if It needed attention until I watched your video. I'm so very greatful for the info you provided. Now for any following liters, I trim pup nails every week, wash her undercarriage every day. If I see any signs I immediately give her warm compresses, bag balm for protection an she is able to continue nursing and loving her pups. Thank you so much for helping me help her.

One thing I will say out of experience. If you go to the vet, make sure you speak with one who has specific experience with reproductive issues, because as I learned not all of them do. When we took my dog in to be looked at almost two weeks ago, one particular doctor recommended xrays, blood tests, etc. Per her my dog wasn't making red blood cells, etc etc. She was making it seem like what was going on was so terrible and additional testing would be needed to determine if it was cancer etc. But she kept stating how bad it looked. Given my dogs age my husband and I didn't know if we wanted to put her through all of that. She had already lost 20 pounds, didn't want to eat, etc. The next day she was out of it, in such terrible condition, so we decided to schedule her for euthanasia the following day, which was a Friday. Friday came and we just didn't want to do it, besides she seemed to be trying. So we called and asked to consult with the more experienced vet. So Saturday morning we took the dog in and that is when that vet diagnosed my dog with pseudo pregnancy and mastitis. Now had I listened to the first vet and put my dog down I would've been furious.

I noticed it today no milk was coming out I thought it was odd looked it up and found out what it was started putting warm cabbage compress after a bit milk squirted on my glasses I was so happy ! No signs of puss she still nurses normal walks around and still feeds babies Should I be worried if infection ?

My girl has just pulled through from milk fever and I've been told by the vet to dry her up any tips on how I can do this. She has a alot of milk and I'm worried she will get mastitis.

On a human Experimenting myself the subject. I made a poultice of grated raw turmeric. I kept it on an infected finger overnight using the tip of a plastic glove. in the morning the infection was drawn out. I had tried doing the same with garlic it caused a second degree burn causing the skin to peel off. I haven’t tried ginger root. Cabbage leaf would be easy to use for wrapping like a bandage Thanks for sharing

Just for information sake. I NEVER give dogs GFSE internally. I only use it as a topical in emergency situations. I put 20 drops in 2 cups of water and then apply with a wash cloth. Has worked for me in the past to clear up my sons boo boos and stopped several nasty infections but please do a test on a small piece of skin before dowsing the whole area and watch for reactions Some people/dogs are VERY sensitive to it. Hope that helped

My Rottweiler had swollen lumpy mammary glands top to bottom on both sides. Per the vet she had a pseudo (false) pregnancy and since she has no puppies to feed it led to mastitis. So she is now on antibiotics and in about 5 or 6 weeks will have to be fixed.

My dog was listless and wouldn't eat. Her boobs were hard and lumpy. Per the vet, my dog has had a pseudo pregnancy and now has mastitis. She lost about 20 pounds. So far she is on antibiotics and the swelling on the front mammary glands has gone down. But the back glands are still hard and lumpy. I will try the compresses. Thank you for this information. A question. Is it normal for some of the mammary glands to leak pus blood during mastitis?

Start warm compresses and massaging You may get the boob going again. But if not antibiotics are needed. If her temp gets to 101.5. Get her to a vet
