DIY lipstick with crayons!!

Is it safe to use Crayola Crayons to make lipstick, eyeliner and other makeup? As the manufacturer of children's products, safety is our top priority at Crayola. Although our products are nontoxic, we do not recommend using them to make eyeliner, lipstick or other makeup, and strongly discourage their use in this manner. The products were never intended to be used on the skin or face in this manner. Makeup goes through specific and rigorous testing because it is intended to be used on the skin. Because they were never meant to be used as makeup, our colored pencils or crayons have not been tested in the same way and should not be used as a cosmetic. They are not designed, tested or approved for this purpose

Excellent. I like the recipe. Using a combination of oils gives it the right body. i tried using crayon and coconut only, but I needed to reapply it more often. the honey works as a conditioner on the lip. This is really the best recipe if you want good quality. Although I don't like the duck lip look, I would consider adding cinnamon oil to make it a lip plumper.

Hi! Have you tried boiling the lipstick containers? If you do so, the old content will melt off, then you just wash them with dish soap and they should look as new.

Great clip hon! 🤗 The purpose of using a double boiler to to melt the product using indirect heat (so you don’t scorch or burn product/s. I know the jar method is heavily promoted on youtube so I’m not criticizing you for doing the same - but when you use the jar it makes contact with the bottom of the pan - which is why your jar broke the last time. 👍😉 For what it’s worth, your best bet is to use an over safe pyrex bowl that fits halfway into the pot with the outer top of the boel sticking out slightly of the pot’s edge so you can retrieve your melted mixture when you’re ready to pour. 🥰 One more thing..., I make many items like gloss, lipsticks, lotions and even beard balms for my husband, but I hated having to set up a double boiler just to make a small item (or play with new recipe ideas) then I started using a wax warmer traditionally used for hair remover. They’re lass than $25 and definitely worth it! 👍 I line the wax warmer with foil to ensure it says clean (looks like new) then a small class salsa bowl or any small canister or steel sauce cup. romel zaia you dont need the coconut oil just use petroleum jelly and it will be fine. i believe the oil just adds gloss. Also canola oil works as well :)

You can, but you'll be more likely to burn it if you do and it's very unsafe. You should really use a stove so you can stir it and check up on how it is and quickly turn the heat off if it burns.

Crayons are non toxic if you do not consume them regularly. Like if a child eats a couple crayons one time, they are non toxic but if they eat them everyday then the trace materials of metals and other things build up and can make them sick or poison them. The same thing with using them as lipsticks, if you use them in moderation with space in between you will be fine but if you use them everyday those trace materials will build up and could make you sick

To cut lipstick or lip balm use a piece of your air (by ripping it out) and slide it thru the lipstick or lip balm and perfect again 💄

i would skip the coconut oil then :) since it melts so quickly it makes the colour more sheer than most lipsticks.

Yea you can put less coconut oil in and add the whole crayon to get the pigmented you want hope this helps I done I and it was really pigmented

So I'm not hating I'm just giving u a tip....I didn't want 2 waste my money on all the oil and that so I just got crayola twistable and nothing else and I used the same method and it works!!!! Except its not as smooth ( I don't think)
