Hi everyone! I see a lot of you are saying that you don't have coconut oil. That's okay! You can just use vaseline & it will still turn out. (So, instead of 1/2 tsp coconut oil & 1/2 tsp vaseline for the more sheer lipstick, use 1 tsp of vaseline. And, for the more opaque lipstick, use 2 crayons with 1/2 tsp of vaseline.) The key is to add something oily to the crayon wax - you can use shea butter or other types of natural oil as well. Don't worry too much about messing up! But, if you're nervous about it experiment with your least favorite colors first. The recipes are open to tweaking - to change the pigment value & smoothness. Plus, certain crayon colors might work better than others in general. Also, keep in mind that this crayon lipstick is more natural than most of the drug store lip products. Crayola crayons are non-toxic - made from paraffin wax and non-toxic pigments. If you use lipstick from the store you shouldn't be afraid to use this. If you have any other questions please feel free to ask. I will reply to more comments later, but for right now I am going to start working on my Crafty Friday project.

First time watching(now new subscriber)... came over from cupcakes and cardio. Love the first purple gloss color. FYI: You may want to try experimenting with clear vanilla for flavoring. I know in cake decorating, with lighter colors of frosting, the regular vanilla can mute your colors. Using clear may make your gloss colors even more bright/vibrant as well. Can't hurt to see if it makes a difference.

***** it would work Yes you could cause vaseline is mainly for anything and it is safe for you lips and if your going to use Vaseline you going to need 1/2 tbls so it would work and you need to melt the crayons and if you cant use the stove put it in the microwave but dont put plastic in the microwave Hope that helps sorry if i didnt make any sense sorry for the very long text ~Cecebaby

With the back-to-school season here, many parents may wonder about conventional crayons: Are they safe? As part of its Toxic Free Kids initiative, the Children’s Cancer Recovery Foundation (CCRF) urges parents to consider both conventional crayons and alternative options. Crayons contain two elements: wax and pigment. briana mendoza Yes! :) Crayola crayons are safe. They are made from paraffin wax & non-toxic pigments. If you use another crayon brand make sure the box says "non-toxic". Crayon Lipstick is more natural than many drug store lip products, because there are no preservatives involved.

However, actual makeup that has been approved to be sold can have more chemicals & non-natural products than non-toxic crayons. So, I'd rather use crayons (even though I do use actual makeup usually).
