Got a question for ya, Wood Doofus,lol, funny cute name btw, but consider a single Mom here trying to build this ladder for her kiddos loft bed, and has very limited tools, I've got a circular saw, an oscillating saw, and a dremel and tons of attachment heads for the dremel, and all the little basic tools, tape measurer level..., would you say one could still build a decent ladder with just those basic type tools, and how exactly should I go about attaching the steps without being able to do the little grooves for the steps to sit in? Any advice. Was think just some brackets to mount under or around the steps, and wood glue maybe, idk if thats really necessary with the brackets but wtv.

Yes, you can do it all with a circular saw. To cut the dado grooves you'll need to clamp or screw some blocks along the board to function as limit stops. One stop for one edge of the groove and one stop for the other edge. Once you cut the two edges, make several passes with the blade in between the 2 limits. Then you can use a hammer and a screw driver to remove the strips of material left behind. I'll try to find a video on it for you.

I was digging how nice the tools sounded at high speed...them the sanding happened

Yeah, I'm careful to lower the volume on the clips that have loud tools but that sanding happened late in the clip so I may have forgot to reduce the volume. I think I liked the volume of the hammer and saw so perhaps I should have split the clip and reduced the sander part.

At this point I stop watching, don’t have professional tools. KZbinrs need to realize that most of your watchers are amateur make things simple and basic tools

You're right. I cheated. This could also be done with just a circular saw and a drill. Or a hand saw with a drill. I've done things like this before I had tools. But one day, I had to realize that if I really wanted to make stuff, I would have to figure out a way to get tools. Gift luck on your journey!

That's exactly what I said, I acually listed the tools I do have and said how would one go about making a ladder like this with just these basic tools, got a circular saw, an oscillating saw, and a pretty good dremel with tons of attachment heads, and of course square,drill, measuring tape, level, the basics...everyone on KZbin seems to all have bad a$$ tools and or are sponsored so they were provided with all the awsome specialized tools to do the video...sucks, I mean fun ti watch, but it sorta just leaves me feeling helpless and frustrated knowing I'll never be able to afford all those crazy cool tools,lol. Ya know.

​@@wooddoofus you should bring a video back down to the basics for us average folks here who really need ti build this stuff cus we don't have the 100$ to buy the ladder, nor the tools. I'm using a circular saw, and my drill and got a oscillating saw, and a pretty heavy duty dremel...how should I mount in those steps is what I'm trying to figure out. I've got the square,level measuring tape of course, but not what you've got,or most the youtubers making videos about building a bunk bed ladder. They're all tools that would cost 5x the amount of the ladder itself, not helping me here. When my Dad passed away my sisters threw away all his tools, almost all, I got there just after most of his really cheerished and valuable tools where gone. I got his ol rubber mallet tho,lol. Knock'm upside the head w it for doing that,lol. Takes years for the avg man,women, to build up a supply of quality good tools, and having the safe dry space to keep them, let alone space to use them.
