i found some candle/cup warmers on sale for 1 and 2 dollars and i bought them originally planing to use them for gift baskets and what not. (well, mostly because im an impulse buyer.lol) but i now use them to slowly melt my waxes and butters and make lipbalms and lipsticks etc. just any thing that i need to melt and they work wonderful! and i dont have to worry about anything burning or catching fire and they melt everything slowly, but not too slow and actually makes the process little quicker somehow.

Can we use candelila wax? What are the measurments in the recipe for this wax? Also, to prevent lotion bars from spoiling and growing mold and bacteria do we need to avoid applying it to wet or damp skin out of the shower or after washing hands?

there is a channel called soap and clay that goes into what waxes to use and how to formulate cold process soap and solid lotion bars she says you can use bees wax or candelilla wax

Add beeswax to the recipe it has a very high melting point so your lotion bar wont melt & it stays solid

@@analeblanc7201 I only use 1-3% depending on the size of my batch. I dont subtract any oils or it will become to hard & waxy for me. Put a spoon in the freezer then dip it in the mixture to test it. So you will know the consistency of it when it set up so that way you can fix your recipe.

@@analeblanc7201 A lot of people will do equal parts Beeswax and coconut oil Or Beeswax and Shea butter Or Beeswax and coconut butter and coconut oil (and you can adds little sweet almond oil if you want, but you don't have too). The cool thing with beeswax pellets, is that you can make really small batches (say like just a couple bars to start with), so you can play around with different ideas to start with. If you find it's melting too fast, just use more beeswax. I would try 50/50 to start with though. I like to add coconut oil myself, because of theb antibacterial properties, but you don't have too. Hopefully this helps and you'll see this. ❤️

Is the soy wax hot enough after you heat it to melt the Shea butter if you don't microwave the Shea in with it? Every time I've made anything with Shea, if I heat it in the microwave instead of allowing my other oils to melt it, it gets really grainy feeling

I want to know, instead of 8 oz of wax, you said 6 oz of bees wax. What about the other 2 oz to complete the 8 oz pf wax. Or will be okay with just 6 oz of bees wax.

beeswax is a firmer wax. if you use the full 8oz it will be firmer

Why is your shea butter white it should ivory if natural and avocado oil is only good for 9-12 months microwaving oils is so bad it breaks them down and hurts the nutrients. Double boiler only
